Our neighbors won't let their kids have anything to do with pokemon because it stands for "pocket monster" and they think that monsters are just demons. They even think that ET from the movie) is also a demon. I'm not kidding, they are nuts.

Are all non-christians completely incapable of seeing anyone except in stereotypes? Are you guys really that one-dimensional? You say "have christians", like we all unanimously agreed on this nonsense or something. Do you honestly think we all have the exact same thoughts? Do you have the exact same thoughts as every other atheist? Such as atheist pedophiles, atheist rapists, atheists murderers, etc??? Please stop stereotyping everyone become of "1", get that "1" situation in a place I've never even visited, much less live. In our area, God isn't even allowed in our schools, much less has any right to speak up about evolution.
Our local school banned pokemon cards for a completely different reason, it had to do with the kids trading the cards all day, and not doing their work. You know, like kids use to do with baseball cards.

This is how many creationists think that evolution is supposed to work! For those of you who like pokemon, you know that when a pokemon has enough experience, it "evolves" into another form. I actually talked with a co-worker who thought that evolution was crazy because "you mean to tell me that a fish can mate with a monkey and get people"! I literally choked on that one! This is the only reason I think there's hope for some creationists--some of them really don't understand Natural Selection.

This fundamentalism at its extreme. I do not think that this is healthy, but even in public schools pokemon cards were banned because they were distracting the students from doing their work. Too many kids were playing the game and not studying. They were trading cards under the desk etc. :)

That's not all Christians, that is a tiny percentage of us. I personally don't see a problem with Pokemon are Harry potter but some do. Most of the time when things like this happen its for "fifteen minutes of fame" and nothing more. Please don't put us all together in one group most of us really do think for ourselves.

It happens to everyone.... but consider this....One school bans pokemon items while another school (or same one) bans WWJD (What would Jesus Do) bracelets, necklaces, pins, folders, etc.,. for being a "religious" item.
It's an "equal opportunity" world in banning things by one group or another within schools.....or should be. :)

I have to ask you in reverse- how can you deny Christians to remove whatever bothers us, when most people that do not believe are working over time to not have prayer, or the name of Jesus even spoken- if it is a matter of free speech, then let us name HIS NAME in schools- If you do not like it when people ban things, don't ask us to ban Jesus. By the way, He stays!!!!!

Since when, dear one, should a public or private SCHOOL allow toys that are to be used during a student's private hours at home? School has ALWAYS been meant to be a place where a person goes to LEARN, not to play games they bring from home to waste their time.
And no, it has nothing to do with paranoia or anything else. It has EVERYTHING to do with people LEARNING! Get it?
God bless!
