I didn't think I'd be able to get an answer in any other forum so here goes.

For those living outside of Greece, where do you search for info on Oxi Day celebrations in your area? I live near San Francisco, California and am having trouble finding where there will be a celebration this year.

With stipulations on George Bush penciling in a date for American troop with-drawl (before years end)...

Then why when she gave the year 2013 during a debate didn't the whole entire lot of elected democrat officials (Supreme Moonbat Leader's) loose their cool with her by not having them out by the end of the year like they all DEMANDED?

I really would like to understand this. Statistically, it's really Republicans who are adamant about this, but I do see Democrats as well as Independents.

Every other developed country in the world has universal health care for their citizens, they have free education (through university-level in most cases), paid sick leave and parental leave. Granted, the tradeoff for these is higher taxes... but SO WHAT?

Rather than paying $800+ per month for health insurance, you're paying a small percent of your income to be sure you have health care available to you. Rather than paying a few thousand a year for your children to go to school, it's paid for. And the kicker: to send your children to college: free (a value anywhere from 10 to 50 thousand dollars or more).

Why do we choose to work ourselves into debt when many of the costs that we incur could be paid for by an increase in our taxes? Are Americans scared of change or advancing into the modern world?

I think the best is either 'Frasier' or Alan Partridge, and the worst is probably 'The Green Green Grass', though 'Joey' was pretty bad too.

clue: screaming "I am saved" would (probably) be a very boring thing to keep saying for all eternity. Hasn't Jesus taught you more than that?

Is it really a political war between cons and libs or have the neocons managed to get us to fight with each other and ignore the real threat that they pose to our civil liberties, economic and environmental health....real conservatives and liberals have both evolved as time goes by, sometimes I have agreed more with conservatives on some issues, sometimes more with liberals...for instance, I thought Clinton should have been removed from office, not because of his affair, but because he lied to a grand jury....all my life I have respected the position of conservatives whether I agree or not, argue strongly, then go have a beet together, but lately the atmosphere has been poisoned.

Hello. I am a college student and I live in an intergenerational program, that is, I, and other college students, live with senior citizens. The director of the program seems to think that the hygienic issues around the house are not harmful to our health. One senior walks around with his waste on his pants, sitting from chair to chair in the dining room where we eat! Another one, never showers and walks in the kitchen with a foul odor and passes gas literally every step. And lastly, we the students are supposed to clean up after them, even though this is an independent living environment and some seniors should really be at nursing homes instead of here.

Is it hazardous to our health to clean fecal matter, human waste or be in an environment, especially where we eat, exposed to such terrible hygiene?

We all are having a meeting this coming Monday and I want to bring up this issue, because it is important to me.

Thank you for your time.

I am currently assistant manager at my Mcdonalds, I am 20 years old and a full time college student. Last week the supervisor and owner came to have a meeting with me and asked me if I would like to fulfill the store manager role of one of their stores while attending school. They said they are willing to work around school, however the job would probably require 40 hours consistently. There is a significant pay increase, and they offered to pay for all my books through college. I put some hard thinking in it, and decided against it because at some point down the road, as my college career advances, I may not be able to put in the hours I do now. I need to tell him that I am declining his offer politely and professionally while not being ignored for future pay increases or recognition. Any suggestions?

I am not attempting to create an offensive post, but to have a serious discussion because we each seem to have our own set of ideas on the issue of "vulgarity" that are often unique to us. I'm just curious - in polite language not intended to offend - what your ideas and opinions are on what vulgar means, and what the most vulgar thing or things in the world are to you.

For me, vulgarity is anything which intends to exploit someone against their wishes (even if they begrudgingly agree or pretend to agree to it). The most vulgar thing in the world to me is getting people to do your own dirty work against their will - be it involving sex, theft, murder or anything - so that they have to suffer the consequences while you continue to look clean & innocent. There are people who get themselves into that situation, and that's not what I'm referring to - I'm referring to dragging innocent people into such situations when they weren't doing anything wrong to begin with

Everytime I tell my mom something about my son (her grandson) .. she instantly compares him to her cat! (my son is 2.5 months old)
Like today, I said my baby pooped and fell back to sleep and I didn't want to wake him to change him -- and she said how she won't wake her cat when he is sleeping. Then I told her to STOP COMPARING MY SON TO HER CAT -- THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE (because she does it ALL the time).
She said there is NO difference.. and that she cares as much about her cat as her grandson .. and by the end of the conversation, she said the cat comes first!
I don't know what to do! My mom and I are extremely close (her and my dad divorced when I was 2, and my mom raised me .. and I'm an only child)
It's just so frustrating because this happens on a daily basis. Whenever I ask my mom to help me with the baby (when running errands) she always makes me rush around so she can get home to her cat. And now (over the phone) she just admitted the cat comes first!
What do I do?
