I was best man at my fathers second wedding. Started off with " this should earn me a few pints, my own fathers best man"
Good luck, enjoy the day.

keep it short.humour is also good - the bride isnt expected to make a speech so there isnt a specific place where you would make it,i would suggest after your new husband.if i make a speech,it will be something like this: im starting my marriage as i mean to go on - having the last word.firstly,i would just like to say how much i appreciate your presence on this, one of the most special days in my life.thank you so much for sharing in our joy and love.i would like to thank my mum for her love and care - i love you so much, even if we dont always get on.brenda, thank you so much for your wonderful son..thank you must also go to my wonderful bridesmaids - youre my best girls and you were the only ones silly enough to put up with my bridezilla tantrums!lastly,i say thank you to a for being the man that you are - you are my best friend,my lover,my baby boy's father and above all else, youre my soulmate.i love you its a work in progress, but you get the gist :) wishing you all the best and congrats!x

Steel someone else's words. In an episode of Sex and the City, Sarah Jessica Parker's charqacter, Carrie, wrote a beautiful poem.....

His hello was the end of her endings
Her laugh was their first step down the aisle
His hand would be hers to hold forever
His forever was as simple as her smile
He said she was what was missing
She said instantly she knew
She was a question to be answered
And his answer was "I do"

he is probably expecting this to be a way to make sure you are okay with the fact that he is getting remarried. you can talk about all the things you and your father have done together, all the good times the two of you have shared, that you had become a family of two when he was divorced from you mother or whatever, and as a final sentence welcome her to your family of two and state that you are now a family of 3 - or more if she has children as well.
