I don't think it's because of the higher picture/sound quality of DVDs. Before DVDs existed, VHS was the highest quality available. I don't think people refrained from buying them because they were waiting for some other technology years in the future.

I am 15, I have a 4 year old PC which is really slow and I have told my mom for 6 months now that I want a Mac Mini but she always says that she doesn't have money but i know that it isn't true because she is always wasting money on things that she never uses and because of that she never buys me anything (Last time she bought me a game for my PSP and that was over 5 months ago), and even though the Mac Mini doesn't come with a monitor, i already have one, what should i do? Should i wait for Leopard to come out later this month? PS: I have already used Macs and I am familiar with OS X

they say that you can live ~40 days without food and probably if a 400 lbs man would live for a bit longer without food and of course he'd lose some weight, maybe even 100 lbs or so, but would he die of starvation (say in 50 days or so) and still be fat?

what do you think about a person who you see walking down the street who can't make eye contact, walks with a bad posture, and looks nervous? would you find the person looking unattractive, ugly?i'm talking about me. i have social anxiety and go through this most of the time because i'm uncomfortable in my own skin around my others and people always say negative stuff about me that makes me feel down. I feel like if i can be myself than people might actually find me pretty because some people that i am comfortable around tell that i am pretty.

Ok I want to lose weight(14,5'1'and 147 lbs.)and my mom wants me to lose weight to but she don't buy healthy stuff even when I ask her to so everytime I eat something she's like "that's goin' straight to your A*s*s,but then she always contridicts herself saying my a*s*s is SO flat or she''ll say something like thats goin to your stomache,thats goin to your feet.But i feel like she don't love my as much as she could if I was skinny and fit and perfect.I have no self esteem and I don't even wonna leave my room much less my HOUSE and i DON't want to eat at all i want to starve my self but i know if I do that i could get really sick and if i do eat something it's gonna make me twice as big when i start back eating if i was to starve myself but what exersises can i do in my own room I have VERY LITTLE space in there.and what can I do to boost my confidence the fat is mostly around my stomache,thighs,and arms.

I recently replaced the muffler, exhaust manifold, and flex pipe on my 92 geo prizm, and now with all that din gone, i can hear a rattle that seems to be coming from the underside front of the car. It only happens when i press hard on the gas, not when i let up, coast, or brake. any ideas?

When he sees me he always goes out of his way to high five me and then walks away. He high fives everyone, though. Sometimes when he's walking by me, he'll touch my arm and waist, but he does this to some other people, too. He talks to me, but just about normal things, such as school and sports. I've only started talking to him about 2 weeks ago, but we've both seen each other around for years. He was talking to me earlier and mentioned that his dad knew mine, and that got me thinking to he would've had to bring my name up so he must've been talking about me. When we talk, he looks directly in my eyes, but he does that to everyone. He's sending me so many mixed signals. what do you think?

I know a couple who lost their first baby during birth and they were God fearing people who lived their lives according to the bible. They prepared their whole lives financially before deciding to start a family and do good for their children and raise them in a religious environment. Now some people have told them that this is a test of their faith from God to comfort them but I just don't buy that. I cannot imagine the pain that they would be going through and don't know if they could recover from this. If God is the creator of all things then why would he let this happen to his followers who have devoted their life to him and have never questioned their faith till now. Is our God so insecure and un-trusting that he needs to test people's faith. So what if my friend fails this test and loses their faith in God because of this, are they going to be condemened to hell even though they are good people?
