Please explain to me how culture relates to an iceberg! It's been bugging me ALL day!!

I dont understand the double standards. Against Pat Tillman's family, againt John Kerry, etc. Could you imagine the rage if someone outside the walls of conservative groupthink said such things?

Looking for conservative non-answers and justifications that proove my point....GO!

My 15 year old son, is having an 80's retro day at high school tomorrow and he wants to know what the men wore...LOL I can tell him a million things of what females wore ( i was born in 1974) but i cant remember much of what men wore ... any help???

I do not hate or condemn Catholics, I LOVE them! I just despise ALL teaching that “steals” glory from God!

In my last post, some Catholics AGREED that salvation according to the Catholic Church is BASED on grace PLUS works.

Others seemed to indicate that this is a “lie” and that the Catholic Church teaches salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone.

But let’s go to the Catholic source, itself (which, sorrowfully, is NOT the Bible):
"No one can MERIT the initial grace which is at the origin of conversion. Moved by the Holy Spirit, we can MERIT for ourselves and for others all the graces needed to attain eternal life, as well as necessary temporal goods" (Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC), par. 2027).

ok i asked a question yesterday about percentages and i got
this is the problem i asked:
''in year 1996 the net income for such and such a family was $43,000 and now in 2007, it has risen to $60,000 (i just made up that statistic)
by how much percent did it raise? questions like those! how do i calculate to figure out that answer? what are the steps? please!!! i'm eager to know!!!!''
so i got the answer which was
''60000 MINUS 43000 = 17000 DIVIDED BY 43000 =.395348 OR 39.5348 INCREASE TO CHECK MULTIPLY 1.395348 TIMES 43000= 59999.964 OR NEARLY 60000 SO WAGES HAVE RISEN BY 39.5348. THE ACTUAL INCREASE IS 39.5348837''

the only problem is about the answer is that when they divided
17000 BY 43000 , they got 395348 !!! but when i did it on pen and paper, i got http://www.webmath.com/cgi-bin/dividewrap.cgi?divisor=43000÷nd=17000&back=divide.html

I'm taking a test on problems such as these and we are not allowed to use calculators! so how can i get that same

So I'm back home now after some time away. Almost the first question everyone asks is if I have a boyfriend. That doesn't bother me. I know they're curious and trying to see what's new in my life. When I say no, then they ask why not. It infuriates me. It's almost like they're accusing me of pushing guys away. I haven't had a serious relationship in about 7 years and I'm fine with it. I've dated, but not met anyone I want to pursue anything further with. It doesn't bother me. I've had a ton of time figuring out who I am and what I want. So here are my questions:
1. Do you find it rude when someone ask "why not" when you say you're not in a relationship?
2. How do I answer/deal with someone who says "why not?"
3. Why is it so important to everyone else for me to be in a relationship? (Don't say because they want me to be happy because I am. Why can't they see that?)

Let me just summarize this. I'm 16 and my 3 yr old Shiba Inu was struct by lightning three months ago. I miss her dearly and i miss having a little dog running around. Right now im stuck between my feelings and everything. On one hand I want another little puppy running around, but at the same time i feel guilty and am afraid that this new dog will erase the memories i have of her. If you havent guessed already, she was my first dog to die and i just dont know what to do. Also I love shibas but im afraid of getting another one. And also if I get a different breed i feel ill replace her like i have a new favorite breed. What should i do?

If jupiter is a gas planet then why it have moons for, there nothing living on jupiter but maybe we can live on europa. It seems that Europa should be the planet and Jupiter be the moon. We don't need these other planets bc they don't have no life to it.

I'm going to be riding the Greyhound bus soon from Pennsylvania to Florida and I was wondering how thoroughly they check your carry-on bags, or if they check them at all? I want to bring some "personal," non-harmful items with me on the bus in my purse, but I'm not going to if I'm going to get checked. I'll just keep these items in my pockets or something.

If anyone has ever been on a Greyhound bus and could provide some information as to how they check the bags and luggage, it would be very helpful.

He is 3 yo sheltie. Has started grabbing anything from the counter / table and ate them with our 16 yo lab. I went out for an hr n came home seeing they hv got to the table n ate 4 pkts of instant noodles.

He is becoming more uncontrollable ... always looking for stuffs when no one is at home. We hv never had dogs that behave this way.

They are loving dogs but their behavior is unacceptable. What wld you do?

I know someone that needs surgery for cancer, but does not have insurance to pay for it. This is the situation:

He has a lot of debt right now. It is mostly due to losing his business last year. However, in addition he also has to pay a mortgage and his children's school loans. He said his current job (which does not offer insurance) pays a salary that would not be considered low income. Last year, his income tax forms showed a net income significantly in the negatives due to losing the business. Would these circumstances allow someone to be eligible for medicaid?

I read that assets need to be considered too, but I'm don't know about those details. I would imagine his assets would be significantly offset by the the loss of his business.

Thanks for any input. I posted this same question in a different category on Yahoo Answers as well, but I'm hoping to get some additional feedback here too ...

This is a weird thought i guess. I recently had a baby and have lost about 25 lbs already. But i still have some shaping to do of my stomach. Well ........ I started work 3 weeks ago and everyday I wear a girdle. It bulls in my stomach , butt, and thighs and makes me look slimmer. I actually look really good. I got a good hair cut and I'm wearing make up again and everyone compliments me. They say, man you look so good! And I just feel so bad because if i didnt wear the girdle I wouldn't look so good.

Do you consider this lying? Do you understand what i mean?
