I'm going to be riding the Greyhound bus soon from Pennsylvania to Florida and I was wondering how thoroughly they check your carry-on bags, or if they check them at all? I want to bring some "personal," non-harmful items with me on the bus in my purse, but I'm not going to if I'm going to get checked. I'll just keep these items in my pockets or something.

If anyone has ever been on a Greyhound bus and could provide some information as to how they check the bags and luggage, it would be very helpful.

Yeah, I was thinking about that. But I don't want to call Greyhound and ask if they check your carry-on bags. I don't know. It sounds kind of suspicious to me. Haha. I don't know.

I have taken Greyhound several times between NYC, Washington DC and Richmond, VA, and I have never had any of my bags or my purse checked.

I think Greyhound checks carry-on bags. I often see," passengers boarding the bus and it seems they are being checked.

This is in New York City.

Call Greyhound and ask.

they just weight your luggage. if its overweight they charge you extra that's it they don't check your stuff like the airport. The bus is long and boring try the Amtrak train is cheaper and more comfortable!
