Today my teacher said that culture is like an iceberg.?

Please explain to me how culture relates to an iceberg! It's been bugging me ALL day!!

Culture is cold, covered in penguins and can destroy a large boat.

When you see an iceberg in the water, that's only a very small part of it, most of it is under the water, and you can't see it. The different cultures we witness have a lot more to them than what we see on the outside.

Well, most of what's presented about a culture is only the tip of the iceberg. If you go below the surface there's a lot left to be discovered.
