Many atheists focus their arguments on the unlogical existence off god.
But whether god exists or not is not the issue here!

A hypothetical situation

You live in Nazi Germany
You can choose from 2 choices
Obey your fuhrer and join the German army
Or join a resistant grope and fight for you freedom

The same as in religion
You have “freedom” to choose your path
But if you don’t choose the right path you will be punished

So do you have freedom?

Well if there is a stupid god I rather rote in hell for all eternity knowing I did what I felt was right
Then be a mindless slave of a dictator

I prefer the roman mythology on monotheist religion
Ulysses had the courage to fight the will of the gods (Neptune). Monotheists haven’t got this courage to stand against their powerful god.

That what atheism is all about
The freedom to choose your way
Your morals and values
And not be dictated by religion cods.

Is it not?

That I didn't tell my boyfriend that I was a virgin before he and I had sex? The thing is that we talked about sex and I didn't make myself seem like I was a virgin. So I just decided not to tell him I haven't had sex before. He never asked. And I never told him. But I think he was assuming I wasn't a virgin. He probably was positive that I wasn't because of the way I talked and how much stuff I know. Plus I'm too old to be a virgin. I didn't bleed the first time because I do insert stuff when I play...

Do you think it's like I'm lying? Is it ok if I don't tell him?

Here is the example i read about that is current used by one UK airline.

Passenger buys a ticket to Miami
Carbon content of flight amounts to £15 ( 30 USD )
Company called "CarbonCare" then use this money to buy a manual water pump for use in India.

I beleived carbon offsetting was designed to put in place an activity where the carbon dioxide produced by this passenger would be removed from the atmosphere.

At best, i suppose you could argue that this pump allowed the owner to grow crops that would grow and remove the carbon. But its bit of a tenuois link in my view, and you could also argue the opposite that buying the pump helps promote machine dependency and further industrialise the planet.

This is not a question about if there is global warming or not, nor is it a question about whether we should buy products for other countries who might need our help.

its a confused question about the carbon offsetting system.

What gratitude! She was destitute, he supported her and bought a farm, horses and pets cause that was her dream, he also moved interstate to do so ! He encourages her all the way, now she joins the Navy, which is great, and soon forgets what he has done for her ! So now she studies Engineering to become an Officer and hes left paying all her bills and not recognised defacto, has she screwed him ?

Hi, there is a new regulation by the US Department of Travel which allows US citizens to travel to Mexico and bordering coutries without a passport through September 30th 2007. This is due to a back up of Passport applications ... I will be traveling to Mexico on September 30th and will actually be in Mexico without a US passport (until its mailed to me back home in 4-6 weeks, I will then have my mother mail it to me in Mexico). I have 2 questions ... 1) will travel be easy in Mexico without a Passport? Will hotels or places that serve alcohol ask to see my passport? and 2) suppose my mother throws away my mail with the passport in it ... I know I cant enter the US without the US passport, but would I be able to travel the world still? Like to Australia and Europe? Do I need to get a Mexican Passport? Or in Mexico, do you not need a Passport to travel Internationally? Thanks for the intelligent answers, Im not looking for "well then youre screwed" comments.
