go to www.driverguide.com join the site for free, have the site scan your computer, this will tell you whats on your computer, from there you can search site for drivers, up to 10 free downloads per day. just a word of caution, download file to desktop or folder and scan with virus program before using, this is just good practice.
then go back to device manager, hardware tab, and look for yellow? for the device that's missing the driver have is search for driver. it should find automatically, if not open and install yourself.

I ALWAYS use the mfr drivers. Just use the HP or Compaq web site for all components providded by them.
Any other site might be chancy.

the make of pc makes no diff
youll need the fcc # of the nic.
win xp should have the drivers built in for your nic.
