I am having a garage built out back. 400 sq feet. Its almost done. The workers who are building are friends of a friend, they have been asking for money ($1000, 300,500) like every day, for parts, material, etc. What usually does it cost for materials and labor? I am in southern calif.

I mean it's nice if you're pretty and want people to know it, but shouldn't you leave something to the imagination? This is probly a strange question, but can anyone tell me the value of a cord of cedar. We will be cutting down some cedar tree so we can clear an acreage. We will be recycling the cedar. What would the value of a 4 or 8 foot by 3 foot piece of cedar log be worth?????Thank You

This is just a friendly question that I have to ask, what is your opinion on goodnites/pullup and diapers? Are they the same thing or do you think they are different? My opinion is they are all diapers. The all have the same absorbant material to absorb urine, the only difference is how they are applied, tape tabs or all-in-one elastic waist. I am asking becuase I have seen and also answered some questions that some people are so against having a child in "Diapers" but "Pullups" or "Goodnites"are okay. Now I know what most will say that diapers are associated with babies and pullups and goodnites are more for older children but at the end of the day they are all diapers, either tape on diapers or pullup diapers. Again this is just a friendly question, please don't go analysing and making all kinds of judgements on answers, I just think its ironic that some think diapers for anyone past 3 is just wrong but a pullup type diaper (goodnites included) is just fine.

The National Debt is now about $9 trillion. Republicans have done most of the spending but refuse to pay for it. When Democratics try to balance the budget Republicans complain about higher taxes. Future generations will have to deal with this debt. by probably paying much higher taxes. Does all this seem hypocritical to you ?

I need a way to light up some light bulbs without having a socket to plug something into. I remember building something to conduct electricity when I was younger but we used a very small light bulb. Is there any way I could light up regular size light bulbs??

I know everyone is going to think I am crazy, but in our first attempt at renting out an apartment we seem to have gotten the tenant from Hell. We agreed to let her move in with 1 dog and 2 cats. She promptly moved in with 1 dog and 11 cats. Her apartment rent was being subsidized by a local charity group, so the first months rent and security were paid. However, after finding out about the unauthorized animals we asked her to remove them and she refused. The charity pulled their funding because she was unwilling to follow our rental contract. We gave her a date of eviction as of Sept. 1st. She has presently planted herself in the apartment, not paying any rent and still has 12 animals in this 900 sq. ft. apartment. She has let us know that she is there and there is nothing we can do about it. We have contacted a lawyer and are having her served with eviction papers, but is there a chance the court will rule she can stay???
