Murad or the Good Skin line from Kohls. They've both worked excellent for me.

Honey, you've got to know, NO ACNE PRODUCT OR PRESCRIPTION CAN COME WITHOUT ANY SIDE EFFECTS! Everyone of them is gonna at least dry out your face, make it worse, create more pimples, etc... it will have some sort of negative effect on your face! The only thing that I've tried that works is the tomato toner. All you do is wash your face with a moisturizing yet deep cleanser and then take a baby tomato, slice it in half, and rub it all over your face for about a minute. Then, wait for about 40 minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water. Moisturize with Clean & Clear Oil Free moisturizer after. I prefer the morning burst one since the salicylic acid ones are damaging for me.

- Good Luck!!! Hope I helped.

Acne products do dry your skin; probably anything you use will dry up your skin because part of what they are doing to decrease acne is reducing the oil (which keeps the skin NOT dry) and drying up the pimples (hence drying the skin around them). You might want to try using a less harsh soap on your face to reduce over all dryness, and a good quality, oil free, non-comedogenic/non-acnegenic moisturizer. The moisturizer will counteract the dryness caused by the acne medication. Also, remember that the maximum strength medicines (5-10% benz. peroxide for ex) are more drying, and alcohol based toners are too.

I always had problem skin and had tried everything and experienced so much dryness and not much improvement; im on very strong medicine now (and it is AMAZING, my skin is clear!) and moisturizer is my saving grace. Good luck!

I tried proactive also and I hated it. Now I am into natural, organic and making my own home acne products. This is what I use. (I have combo/oily acne prone skin.)

Aloe vera gel mixed with 2 drops of tea tree essential oil works really well and has been shown in studies to improve acne. Doing scrubs is not good for acne at all because it irritates acne so I use warm oatmeal with a little bit of honey to exfoliate which is more gently. A french "green" clay mask works very well also. It removes impurities from deep within and your acne may get worse before it gets better using the french clay. You should try an organic cleanser. (You can get them at a health food store.) I use Aubrey Organics cleanser for combo/oily skin. I also use a herbal astringent recipe from "The herbal body book" by Stephanie Tourles which you can get cheap on half.com. Works really good and is so soothing. Organic green tea (which you can get at giant eagle) is also a great toner/during the day splash, keeps the oil away and is really good for your skin. I also use a oil free moisturizer at night on my face I apply it on my face, neck and chest. Taking vitamins A, E, D, C, B5 (shown is studies to improve acne) vitamin & Zinc. Also eat healthy lean meats, fresh fruits and vegetables. Boxed foods and fast food will make it so much worse!

P.S. If you don't have oily skin that is ok this will still work for you because none of it is drying it is all nourishing to help balance the skin.

Hope this helps!!!

That is my problem also... all the acne products that work, dry my face so much I can't even smile.
Try just washing your face twice a day (I use sulfur soap, from DermaKlear... it really works!!) because overwashing will dry it out.
Don't use commercial acne products with benzoyl peroxide. They will not only make your face dry & red, but will make your face REALLY break out once you quit using them. (I'm speaking from sad experience)
Lately I have been using a neem oil thing from Wise Ways Herbal Remedies, which seems to help.
I hope you find something that works!!

All of the neutrogena products are good- they keep acne under control but don't dry out yur face, check the labels for benzoyl peroxide and any type of acid those are what dries out your face so if the product doesn't have those you will be ok.

I'm allergic to clean and clear, so I won't reccomend that.
I use neutrogena products, like nuetrogena deep clean. It's an invigorating foaming scrub with micro beads. it's tingly cool and refreshing. You can get it from a local wal-mart.

Here's a tip. Wet your face with warm water before applying, it open's up your pores. Apply some and scrub in little circles. Rinse in warm water so your pores don' close whith the soap inside them (that causes more pimplies). After all the soap's gone, splash off with cool water. Pat dry!

I hope it helps!

Try going to the doctor. They can prescribe antibiotics, Trust me you'll be so glad that you did.

Acne is annoying and most face washes are rubbish.

Try La therapie which is pricey but good. I use it now. Most things dry out sensitive skin so use an oil free moisturiser. I use neutrogena. Clearasil is also really good and way More affordable.

Good luck and I hope your skin improves a little.
x :)

Try the AcneFree Products. Have found them to work much better than the Proactive or anything else.

I just started using a facial bar with no chemicals or pore clogging ingrediants, and it did wonders for my face. My roomate tried it and loves it too. I think that Aveno makes a good one, as well as physoderm.
