is it like you see a hispanic or asian and you assume they speak spainish or they are nerds??? or is that sterotyping? plz define what discrimination really is.

It's on the Kaiser Permanente (sp?) commercial and I think it says something like "from such great hieghts, come down now" or something like that......... i know it is a sort-of-popular song but does anyone know the song/singer? If so let me know! Thanks!

I work in the IT department in a large firm. My office mate is very cheap and he asks me to borrow change every single day(for the snack machine). I would not mind if it were once or twice, but I added up lasts month's tithing to him and it averages out to about 20 bucks a month! He has also asked me twice to get him something when I was running to McDonalds and said "I will get you for lunch" or I will go to the ATM at lunch and give you some cash" but he had the nerve to "forget ..both times. I cant even go to the snack machine anymore because I know he will ask me for change and I am almost to the point of being rude to him, and dont want that to happen because I tend to have a very sharp tongue when I get angry. The thing that really bothers me is that he is the type of guy who points out ALL of my mistakes no matter how petty but yey he cant bring his own f------ change!! ughhh what can I say without being rude while letting him have it?

i came to america about 4 years ago, and i am still getting accustomed to the american culture. Often times,when i enter a store and say good morning or good afternoon'to the salesperson i am usually seen as an alien or don't get an answer back. Is Hi/ Bye better accepted than Good morning/good afternoon/Good Evening ?

In my culture, i was raised to greet everyone i meet everywhere i go. How is that seen in America ?

Hey all-
Im sure you get this alot but I had a question about how much sports help when applying to the air force academy--

my overall gpa: 3.7 (My highschool is highly ranked-- gpa should boost up)
sat: 2000 (out of 2400)
I am in the national society for highschool scholars
1 year of extra circular programming (game)
1.5 years of jujitsu (purple belt)
1.5 years in civil air patrol
vice president of 2 clubs (cancer out reach/climate control - going on second year for both)
good amount of community service +100 hours
member of my church

but no sports in school- how much will this harm me?
(I already have the senator recommendation)

I'm trying to replace a kitchen faucet, and am replacing the hot and cold supply lines also. I've got the stainless steel supply lines to replace the old ones. Should I use teflon tape when connecting the new ones? Or plumbers putty? What is the difference? What happens if I don't use anything?
