Do you think Christians would like it if atheists suddenly started going door to door passing out flyers and leaving cards on windshields?

They wouldn't like it at all, but they wouldn't equate it with what they're doing either. In their minds, they're the only ones who are right and there can be no such thing as philosophical or cultural plurality.

I actually printed up a two-sided tri-fold pamphlet that I still keep in my car just in case I'm approached by someone trying to "win my soul" for whatever. The pamphlet is entitled:

A TEST OF FAITH FOR BIBLE BELIEVERS:

DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE IN GOD AND JESUS CHRIST?

ARE YOU REALLY SURE?

DON’T LOOK INSIDE UNLESS YOU’RE REALLY SURE!!!

What follows are 31 questions that will challenge even the most devout by forcing them to THINK about WHAT they believe and WHY. I've only used it once, and it wasn't exactly well-received.

Please don't lump all Christians together. For my part, I wouldn't care, because I don't answer the door anyway if it's someone I'm not expecting. And it would just be another paper ad on the windshield to throw away.

But this is a great question and you have the same right to do it as others do. In fact, this would also be a great idea for those of us who believe homophobia is a sin.

But you do realize that certain Christians and groups would retaliate and start protesting and harrassing you, don't you? There's a small chruch in Ohio, for example, that welcomes gay people. Anti-gay Fundamentalists are there every Sunday with signs and t-shirts. They protest. They even go into the congregation and have actually grabbed the microphone during services and promoted homophobia. This is the type of "Christian" you would be dealing with if you opened that can of worms. Next thing you know, they will be passing laws to prevent atheists from marrying. It gets very messy, believe me.

What would the Atheist 'chick tracts' read like? You know, those little cartoon stories that you find in the bathroom and in phone booths?

Here's an atheist tract that might come in handy, should anybody decide to go ahead with that: http://www.atheisteye.com/AtheistTract.pdf

Check out the site, as well.

I personally have committed to "go evangelical", as you put it, immediately after the earth stops spinning on its axis.

When someone hands me a flyer, it is like they are saying, "Here, you throw this away for me."

Can they debate you at the door like anyone would, say, a mormon?
