A big window will always make a room appear to be larger. Also, try using brighter paint colors, and maybe adding a few mirrors. A wall length mirror doubles the size of the room, but it is ugly.

To make your small room seem bigger...
For walls, you can use light cool colors, such as blue, green or purple. Paints with gloss will help reflect light better and will also contribute to making your room seem a bit bigger.
You can also use murals with that have sunlight, bright skies and dimension to expand space. Ones that have sidewalks or pathways will also open space up. like this one gives your room an open feeling: http://www.muralsyourway.com/myw4-browse-res.cfm
For lamps, you could use a tree lamp or 3-in-1 lamp for all of your lighting needs: http://www.lampsplus.com/products/s_tree-lamp/77066/?lpAffilSiteID=Tffqgcxu.Vo-g1pd8kbLT7DoGGUep5FYew. Or use wall and tree lamps together. And one table lamp to add charm and even it all out if you like.
For beds, convertible beds will save you the most space. Depends on whether or not you want space temporarily or permanently. Chest beds can help you with temporary space. Hidden beds can help you with permanent space by combining a desk and bed together: http://www.furniture-for-small-spaces.com/how-to-decorate-a-small-bedroom.html
And as other have said, mirrors help open up the space in a room by reflecting light.
For desks, you might also want to open up space in your room with a wall mounted desk system.
You can buy one or make one.
For making a desk, these two pages might help:

For buying a desk, you can check these out:

For TVs, try mounting it to the wall or going for pedestal stands:

Rearranging your furniture might also help. You can find some nice tips on how to arrange it on this page:

I hope that helped!

Have a small bed, dresser, desk, etc., and keep your room clean. It'll give you more space and it will seem like it is bigger.
Hope this helps!

Clean things out and if you did, try putting furnitures away from the wall. Also in a small room, put large pictures on the wall.

Use light colors when you can. You might even consider adding mirrors. And try not to have too much clutter.
Good luck!

Paint it white. Take out everything you don't need. Keep it neat.
