Discrimination is stereotyping anyone. It doesn't just have to be a certain race. You can discriminate against homosexuals, people who own pit bulls, people who dress a certain way.

An example is that when I tell people I own an American Pit Bull Terrier they either assume that I am scum, or that I fight dogs. And I am neither. But because they assume this they might not talk to me or whatever.

Or like an employer not hiring someone because they are overweight and they assume that means they are lazy. That is discriminating. And it is wrong.

Discrimination is an attitude whereby one does not respect or give persons of varying ethnicity the same civil liberties and basic civil rights you enjoy. There is a distinct difference between preference and discrimination. For example: I socially prefer nice looking blue eyed white women over overweight fat nosed black women however I believe both should have the same rights of respect. On the other hand I prefer Halle Berry, a attractive black female over some soggy fat white woman. Nothing wrong with assuming one spoke Spanish just as there's nothing wrong assuming that one spoke French, German, Russian, etc. Lighten up these mundane things and start concentrating on doing good and avoiding evil. You'll feel better.

That is stereotyping. Discrimination is something that hurts like not giving someone a job because of their race.
