It sounds like an umbilical hernia....best to be checked by a vet...
What bothers me the most is that you got your puppy before it was old enough to be weaned...What are these breeders thinking???
Good luck!

It is most likely an umbilical hernia.
This happens when spot where the umbilical cord was doesn't heal completely and part of the intestines push out of from between the stomach muscles.
If it isn't bothering him and it doesn't stick out too far (no more than 1/4") and is not swollen, it should be fine until you can get it repaired.
It can only be repaired by surgery. You can get this repaired at the same time that he gets neutered. It is usually a fairly minor repair that is done very easily and doesn't take long at all. Getting it repaired during his neuter will keep him from having to go thru a second anesthetic/surgical procedure and he'll just have some extra stiches to show for it.
If you are concered about how it looks, at any time, definately have a vet look at it.

It's too bad your puppy wasn't allowed to stay with it's birth mama till he was 8 weeks old. He was too young to be taken from his mama.
He's supposed to get puppy shots every 4 weeks, so he should be due for his next shots within the next two weeks. You need to let the vet know about it then and have him "palpate" the dog's tummy to see if it's an umbilical hernia or something else. It may not be a problem, but it can't be diagnosed until it's seen IN PERSON, not here. There actually aren't many vets if any here on Yahoo Answers.
Since he's not in any distress, just make sure it's looked at when you take him for shots within the next 2 weeks.
He needs puppy shots every 4 weeks till he's 4 months old.

that's some thing to speak with your vet approximately. The vaccines they have will would desire to be accompanied especially how they do it of their workplace. some vets are distinctive, yet oftentimes puppies get their distemper combination vaccine thrice over 3 week durations, they get their rabies vaccine (sturdy for one 3 hundred and sixty 5 days) at 12 weeks, and can get a lyme vaccine (sturdy for one 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, and get that looking on the place you reside) around a similar time. And so a approaches as deworming, that's yet another protocol which would be as much as the vet. be helpful you carry a fecal pattern in nevertheless! that's sturdy to have checked while they are puppies and lower back at their each and every year visits. yet standard, this is a sturdy ingredient to speak with your vet approximately- start to construct a dating with them. that's okay to no longer be attentive to each thing once you pass in for an appointment- that's what they are there for and could be happy to describe all issues domestic dog to you. sturdy luck and congrats on your new domestic dog! :)

It is probably an umbilical hernia. It COULD be serious, depending on the level of herniation. It also can close on its own by the time that the puppy reaches 6 months old, if it is only minor.
The best thing to do, is have the vet check it when you take your puppy in for it's shots.

Sounds like an umbilical hernia. If it is small it won't hurt anything and likely won't get bigger. Your vet will be able to talk to you about it. Push it in and you should be ale to feel the 'hole'. If it is about the size of a pencil eraser, it will be fine. If it is much larger it is still not a big deal and can easily be repaired when the dog is neutered. Don't worry!

It is hard to diagnose by email. It could be his normal navel, or it could be a hernia. If it doesn't bother him, it is probably OK to wait until you go back to the Vet for the next checkup and shots.

It sounds like maybe a hernia. I could resolve itself as he gets older, or it could need surgery. Mention it to the vet when you take the pup in for his shots.

Sweety, your pup is still very young, should be with his mum. That bump where his umbilical cord is will probably go away, but take him to the vet...not a virtual vet.
