"Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair." (Kahlil Gibran)
I’m a German but I’ve left Europe for good, living in India for the past seven years. I’m quite an average guy – except for my trademark: I'm always barefoot, all-year-round, wherever I go, whatever I do! Most of my friends have never seen me wearing shoes… For me, being barefoot isn’t just a fashion statement: It’s a lifestyle, a way to express myself. And of course an amazing sensual experience: I can FEEL the ground! Would you wear gloves all-year-round? Nopes! So: Why shoes? Walking barefoot, I’m far more “in touch”, in touch with nature, with Mother Earth… Energy can flow freely, I’m never disconnected. It’s very refreshing and stimulating, and the ecological impact is far less dramatic (erosion!) if I’m hiking without shoes. Somehow I’m more defensive, less aggressive if barefoot. Walking barefoot isn’t only special but also communicative: Travelling a lot I’ve made friends in many countries, explaining why I’m roaming around barefoot!
Coming to India I realized: Many people are barefoot, all the time and everywhere, not only in rural areas and villages but also in town! Even if you’re staying in a big city – one of those hot-spots of modernization and westernisation: You’ll be unable to spend ten minutes in the streets without spotting a pair of dusty bare feet! And it seems quite obvious to me that living barefoot isn’t a privileged of the poor, especially in the South, especially in cities like Chennai. But I wonder: What about the educated youth – students, university graduates? Has anyone of you chosen to go barefoot for fun, ‘cause it’s cool or healthy?

The poor girl has gone through so much and everyone judges her so quickly.

You can tell she was just tired and thats why her performace wasn't chopped full of energy like it once was. She was probably pushed for a comeback and she wasn't quite ready for it.

Everyone has hard times, don't laugh or poke fun of her...cuz one day you won't want it to happen to you.

She needs more time to heal, and one day she'll be back to her old self but much better!

Anyone feel the same, or are you all out there to get her?

My heart is still so heavy for all that lost their lives that day.I can remember being on the 12th floor of a building in downtown Houston the day it happened. When I saw the first television news flashes and all I could think of was OMG will it happen to us before the day was out. Rest in peace to all that were lost that tragic day.

The sun regularly runs her down for the slightest little thing. One time she came out of a restaurant with a small stain on her blouse and they wrote a story about it with loads of photos! How interesting! She hasn't done anything to hurt any of us and yet it seems everybody wants to stick the boot in.

For anyone who suffers from it, did/do you find it difficult, if not impossible, to give anything to a relationship? Do you feel that you have nothing to offer, and cannot give yourself to someone in a relationship? If so, why do/did you feel that you were not giving enough? Is it just a result of lack of emotional energy?

My ex is the one going through this, although we have little communication because I want to let him have his space. We've been apart for about 7 months now, but I still really care for him and worry. I've told him time and time again that I am always here for him if he needs anyone to talk to or listen, let him know that I care and encouraged him to get help. Should I continue to keep in light contact with him every once in a while? You know, just send an email or something letting him know that I care and am thinking about him? Or have I done enough, all that I can do, and should I just step back and let him come to me? I don't want him to feel I've abandoned him

In china for a second child a family has to pay the local government up to $10,000 dollars. For a third child up to $50,000 dollars. This has led to only families that can afford to properly care for the children to have them. Of course there are exceptions.
In the U.S. we give more money to families with more kids either through taxc breaks or spending money on healthcare and schooling. This has left the taxpayers with less children to pay for the families who want more.

Which is better for the economy, and which system do you think is better overall.

(not voting on which country is better)
