My heart is still so heavy for all that lost their lives that day.I can remember being on the 12th floor of a building in downtown Houston the day it happened. When I saw the first television news flashes and all I could think of was OMG will it happen to us before the day was out. Rest in peace to all that were lost that tragic day.

At work. I remember someone walked into my office and said that the news station said that a plane had crashed into one of the towers. I continued working until it was time to go to a meeting. Everyone was gathered at the front office around a small TV. That was when I realised that we were under attack. I went home shortly after and stayed glued to the TV (I live in Texas). I remember how helpless, angry and sad I felt all at the same time. I cried. I don't know why. I remember walking outside of my house on that bright morning and being stunned by the silence all around. No planes were flying, the roads were empty. It seemed as though even the birds had fallen silent. I remember raising my flag the next morning. Driving to work, it seemed like everyone had some sort of flag or message of patriotism on their vehicle. We need to finish this war no matter how long it takes or we'll never have peace again. God Bless America!

I was at work. My husband called me from a job site at someone's residence just after the first plane hit. As we were speaking, the second crash happened. I immediately went too the conference room and set up the television so we could all watch what was happening.
I had to leave to run some errands, and I thought that I had finally pulled myself togerth enough to drive. I was listening to a news report, and they were interviewing a construction worker who had witnessed people jumping to their deaths. He was from either New York or New Jersey, and had the stereotypical tough guy accent. Halfway through the interview he completely broke down in tears and could not speak. I had to pull my car over to the side of the road. I just sat there and cried for what seemed like ages, listening to the stories unfold. That night I held my son closer to me than I think I ever had before.
My heart goes out to all of those who were lost and all who suffered a loss on that day.

I was working second shift the night before so I had just woke up and had turned on the TV. I was so shocked and nervous as my son was in the military overseas and all the phone lines were jammed. I must of been glued to the TV for twelve hours or more that day. It was and still is a life changing event.

First of all, many of those that died that day were working in government offices FOR OUR GOVERNMENT. Many of them were, in fact, DOD(Department of Defense) workers. In other words, if US definitions are accepted, they would be considered "legitimate military targets."

Secondly, given that these attacks were conducted by al-Quaeda members under the orders of Osama bin Laden, who was in Afghanistan at the time, 9/11 in no way justifies the devastation and horror that the American military has unleashed in Iraq. 9/11 does not justify the sheer tonnage of clusterbombs that we have dropped on peaceful Iraqi villages to maim and/or murder Iraqi children. 9/11 does not justify the complete genocide of entire villages through carpet bombing or slaughter by our infantry. 9/11 does not justify a single rape committed in our name. 9/11 does not justify the chamber of horrors that was and is Abu Ghirav, much less the death camp known as Guantanamo. 9/11 does not justify the complete eradication of infrastructure: Iraq will be at least 50 years getting rebuilt and stabilized economically and politically from the destruction that has been committed in our names.

When are Americans going to shed their moral cowardice and take a stand against the president and the party that have brought our nation to extreme shame and scorn in the court of world opinion?

Yes, 9/11 was a tragedy. Yes, innocent people died that day. And, for each life lost that day, our government, in our name, has slain at least 1,000 Iraqi civilians for each life lost in 9/11. These Iraqi civilians HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH 9/11. The question then is: how many more innocent Iraqis do you want to see murdered by our forces to slake your lust for revenge?
