I am 43 and have been self employed and done the same job for 16 years without any problems. It is very physical and I work long hours. Yet for the last 6 - 8 months I am experiencing terrible aching legs and back. So much so that I am finding it hard to go for a run which I used to do now and again. Could this be anything to worry about or am I just getting old?

...Welsh and English people? (I'm looking for slang terms here, such as 'Jimmy' and 'Paddy', not the proper terms.)

And please also tell if the terms are derogatory or not. (I don't care, I'm just trying to educate myself about a few cultural and language differences).

In United States, English may be referred to with these slangs: John Bull; blue-blood or blue-blooded. These slangs are usually never used in derogatory or unflattering fashion, and are often used as terms of endearment. On the few occasions that I have heard them used in a derogatory manner, there has been little or no sting in them.

Same thig goes for the U.S. slangs for Irish--all I can think of right now is 'Mick' and the less popular 'Paddy'.

I can't think of a U.S. slang for Scots.

Thanks.

I walked aimlessly
Through the dark path,
An endless maze
Of old memories,
Of mournful pasts.

There was no meaning to life.

No sun
To light my way.
No shoulder
To cry on.
No one
To share my pain.
All alone.

That was my life before I met you.

Your smile
Is my sun,
An ever lasting light
To guide my way.
Your words
Are my shoulder,
And endless box of tissues
That will dry all of my tears.
You
Have made the change in my life.
One so large,
It is now impossible to take back.

You are the one reason I can live through each and everday.

You mean so much to me,
And through this poem,
I want to tell you that
I love you.

I hope you liked it. I've had poetry assignments, but this is my first poem to someone.

What does it mean to be married? Doesn't everyone get divorced and cheat nowadays? How's married life different from dating life? I just don't believe in marriage or see the big point in it. Is that wierd...? I'm 23 and never been in love or thought of being married in the future. What's it like??

Before you start blowing up on me I just want you to know that I'M NOT BASHING!!!!

This is really a serious question cuz I keep hearing about this all over the internet (e.g. like that BattleCry thing everyone's been talking about)

I just want to know just how true (or false) this notion is.

Additional question.

If it IS true, then can anyone tell me what are their thoughts on the following things.

Note: the links are examples of the mentioned items.

a couple weeks ago, i was out buying some chickpeas at an arab store. i found some mango drink, and decided to buy it. it was expired, and i got sick off of it. so i blew the whistle on him, and his store shut down, and he's living with us, because he wants to repay us, and because i ruined his business. now its getting real bad. he cooks for us every day, and stinks up the house, and all the food he makes is really spicy, and the kids cant eat it, since one of my kids is a tv addict. and he always plays this annoying oboe like instrument. and he also pulled the chair on my father while he was visiting, and sings this annoying song played on some instrument called the ood. like the song is "who need the avenue market" then he goes on the roof and cries, and the kids are always afraid when he does that. the only way to get rid of him is to travel to qatar, and help him get his store back by the first owner of this chain

I'm an animal lover and really like dogs. My girlfriend wants to get a dog, and I want a pitbull. Pitbulls are extremely intelligent and dedicated to their owner (if trained properly) She doesn't want a pitbull or a rotweiller. I dont want a rotweiller either, but I really think pitbulls are beautiful animals. She said she wouldn't mind a bulldog. I wouldn't want to get a dog that she didn't approve of, although she too is an animal lover, and I know if I brought home any dog, it would be cute and special. What should I do?
