If that was me, I would tell them to let me die and save the baby.

I could not say it better than midnight crier did.
The percentage of abortions done, to "save the life of the mother" is so few that we should not even mention it. 4,000 abortions a day alone in America- and do you know what the huge percentage of abortions are done for? Because the woman is "not ready to parent". Both lives are important, but I can tell you I know a mother who chose to take the risk that she would die while she was pregnant because she could have not have treatment for cancer that was found when she was 3 months pregnant. It might had killed the baby. She chose to love her baby enough to give him and chance at life- and by the way, the mother did not die. She is fine today. I just heard about a woman who was contemplating her 10th abortion. That is obsessive don't you think? Abortion has become something that is considered ok- it isn't, in any situation- however in the case of the mom or baby's health- why don't we leave that in the hands of the ONE that created both of them, ok?

Neither life is more important. Every human life is of equal importance and equal dignity. However, one person is never morally bound to seriously jeopardize their own life in order to save the life of another. Therefore, in cases where the mother's life is GENUINELY and SERIOUSLY endangered, no-one - not even the Catholic Church - has any objection to her receiving essential medical care, even though the baby may be killed as a result. This is not an abortion. It is an unintended and unavoidable complication of life-saving medical care.

Normally there are only two conditions where this would apply, ectopic pregnancy and uterine cancer. In ectopic pregnancy, the baby has zero chance of survival with or without surgery, while the mother has an excellent chance of full recovery with surgery, and a high risk of death without it. Therefore there is really no choice to be made, and no moral implications whatsoever. She must have the surgery.

In uterine cancer, the mother may decide to carry the baby until he/she is viable, and have a C-section followed immediately by hysterectomy; or to have a hysterectomy immediately, which would cause the baby's death. Either choice is morally sound.

Other conditions which may cause some increased danger to the mother can almost always be controlled by medication and/or bedrest, and are never a justifiable reason for killing the child. Direct and intended abortion is never justifiable and is always gravely immoral.

Well, if it's important to save a life save the mother's. It sounds like the baby would die either way.

This is an old and tired argument. It has no merit. If you are advocating abortion, you should know that less than 1% of abortions are done for this reason. You should also know that since the Roe vs. Wade decision, over 40 million innocent babies have been murdered by this barbaric practice. Give it a rest.

If the mother has other children to take care of she needs to think of them and protect her own life, imo, but noone can really answer that question for anyone else. It would be a horrible choice to have to make if put in that position.

It's between the woman, her God and her obgyn. Not the rest of us. It's a personal decision that is not subject to world view & opinion.

Even God allows us to choose Him, he doesn't force us, why do people insist on forcing others into agreement?

Save a baby, kill a doctor. How sick and twisted is that. And very very un-christian [revenge and murder].
