Im sorry my last question was not very well phrased. I have a 55 gal tank with 1 millenium 3000 filter 1 canister filter and 1 undergravel filter with a reverse flow powerhead. My question is why is my temp going up in my tank. Its at 82-83 degrees, this is up from 78-79 in the morning. This happened over a 3 hour period. I just added the powerhead today when the temp started to go up. I am unsure if this is part of the cycling process , If it was the fish in the tank (as the petstore told me to do) or if it is the filter heating the water. How can I cool it down (I can NOT afford a chiller right now) and why would it have gone up so fast. Thats what I was trying to ask before, I hope i phrased this better. Guess no sleep in 3 days will do that to you. Thank you for you advise

I am 22 years old and this is my first pregnancy. I am only 8 weeks. I got some imformation from my obgyn, about some optional testing. It includes Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) testing, at 16 to 18 weeks. It can check for defects in the spine area for genetic disorders such as down' syndrome. I heard down' syndrome usually only happens in older women and men that try to concieve. Is that true, or am I still at risk and should opt for it? I want to do whatever is right for the baby.

I have homework where I have to find the name of the element, the atomic number, the mass number, the # of protons, nuetrons and electrons.
So I found a site that helped me with the first easy ones. But then my teacher added some more difficult ones that I don't understand. Here they are:
F-
Cl-
Na+
K+
Mg+2
Ca+2

So my questions are, do these elements have the same atomic number, and mass number? Do these elements have the same # of protons and neutrons?

From what I read on this sight, the plus sign means that this is a positively charged ion. It is positively charged because a negatively charged electron was removed from the atom. So I just want to know if I am correct in saying that Fl- has an atomic number of 9, a mass number of 19 and protons = 9 and neutrons = 10 and electrons =10?
For a negative sign am I just adding one onto the electrons and not changing any other numbers? And for the postive sign am I just subtracting one from the # of electrons??

For securing a grille over a window, i think i could use a strong openable ring instead of a padlock. If it needs two hands to open, it couldn't be opened from outside by fingers through the grille. If it's easy to close, you would be more likely to do all your windows, as it would be easier than padlocks (also should be cheaper). My idea for a design would have the ring opening to form 2 joined half-rings, with a snap to close, needing some force so 2 hands would be needed. I'm not sure of the details, though. Does anyone know if such a thing exists?

Help! I have a loan with Sallie Mae (big mistake) and the my interest rate is 18.5%. I only borrowed a little over $3000 and its now over $7000. What should I do?!?!?! This is driving me crazy because I don't want to be caught in sallie mae's debt trap for the rest of my life. I called them and asked if there was any way to lower the interest and they said no.
