Conventional wisdom states that the U.S entered World War II because of Pearl Harbor. But then instead of going against the Japs alone the U.S decided to focus on Europe though Germany was not a direct threat. My question is whether the U.S was forced to invade Europe to prevent an outright win by Stalin.

No Pearl Harbor is why we entered the war. We decided to help England, our ally, defeat Germany as well. Stalin wasn't winning, he was just hanging on!

The US entered the war due to Japans suprise attack at Pearl Harbor. Try to do some research on the "Germany First Policy" to better understad why the US focused its resources to defeat Germany in the 2nd World War.

USSR wasn't loosing the war in December 1941 as some loony propagandists from Washington Obkom say.
Some guys above deserve "F" in History.

When Pearl Harbor was attacked, the major counteroffensive was already (12/05/1941) launched and Germans were crushed losing about 1 million soldiers (2 times more than USA lost during all WW2).

USA entered the war because of Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

The United States entered WW2 because of the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the possible threat that Japan & Germany would become allies and form the axis powers.

Russians (Stalin) and Great Britain were our allies. ( the allied powers)

You missed a couple ot things, like:
Germany declared war on the US, 12/11/41.
Russia was losing the war (badly) in December, '41.

The 'Germany First' policy is long and complicated. Do some research on that.

Ya, and Pearl Harbor had absolutely nothing to do with it.

Get real. The Russian Army was getting it's a.ss kicked by the German Army in December, 1941.
