the town im in is having a water shortage. due to that, one suggestion among many was to thaw food by placing it in standing water rather than running water over top it.

the process works fine for me, prompting me to wonder why (other than influence from growing up) anyone would use running water over standing water to thaw meat. whats the advantage of one over the other? is it just ignorance?

and yes, i obviously know there are other ways to thaw food. im not asking about that, so please keep it in context.

Do I have to save it instead of running it, and how can I prevent this from happening?

I was either going to switch to Opera or a recent edition of Firefox after unsuccessfully trying to install IE7... Because a lot of the sites I frequent don't appear right or work really slow with IE, but are fine with those two browsers (Ex. Gaia, after they had the new layout.)

Hi everyone!
I am 23 120lbs 5'3. I have a healthy weight but I have not worked out in 5 years, therefore I am not "healthy"... So, I decided to start working out to tone-up. My gym is about 1/2 mile away and I walk there for my warm up. When I get to the elipictal my heart rate jumps to 140BPM within seconds at a rate of 3.0-4.5 mph. The funny thing is, I don't feel like I am working hard at all--but when I work harder, to get a sweat, my heart rate goes to 157 and I start to freak out b/c i'm nervous I will have a panic attack. (Panic suffers understand that sometimes just feeling our heartbeat faster can cause us some anxiety..) Any help? I go to the doctor and they've never said anything is wrong with my blood pressure, and they always take my pulse.

Also: I am not on any drugs
I have cut-out about 250 calories a day
Was on Amoxcilian last week: strep throat.
No stress

Assume a situation in which this had to happen. Terrorists are going to kill 500 babies or something, while torturing puppies. I dunno, whatever it would take. Doesn't have to be a religion per se, but that's what most of the options would be.

Me, if every lunch could be like the flat-bread and hommus I just had, I'd convert to Vegetarianism.

Since January of this year, I have been in touch with a male coworker from a job I left in November. It was nothing more than a one or two minute phone call once a week. Maybe twice, but not likely. Simply a check in, all good, great & take care. I did not tell my husband about the contact, he doesn't inform me of his contacts so why should I. He recently became aware of the calls because he checked the cell phone records. Now, since he has been guilty in the past of infidelity he is putting that on me. He thinks the quick phone calls mean I was involved in a physical relationship. Also that I don't know if this person has a girlfriend or not. I didn't care that deeply to ask. I don't think there is anything else. What is your thought on this? I can't be completely off base in thinking his rational is over the edge. Okay, I didn't tell him - but I'm not sleeping with the guy!

They are immigrants. They don't have rights. How are they able to protest? I'm not against them coming here, they are just going to have to put up with the 10 year wait list to become a citizen. If they don't like that, they can fix their own country. There's enough of them here to make a reform in their own country, but they would rather come here and take advantage of the American way.

For the past day or so, my dog hasn't been himself.. he is a cockapoo and is 7 years old.. he hardly moves or responds to us.. we thought that maybe the landscaper sprayed something and my dog inhaled it or something.. but its really making me worry.. i brought him by his water bowl and he drank and then i took him out, and then he peed. when we got back inside, he just layed down again barely moving.. my mom said he threw up while i was out yesterday .. today, my mom is going to take him to the vet when she gets out of work.. im just really scared for him because i had him since i was a baby.. he is very healthy except for yesterday when he started this behavior.. please help me out! =(
