I think Norris would walk through Sweet Pea.

Norris' Chin was suspect but that would not be a factor in this fight due to sweet pea's lack of power.

Thoughts?

A lot of people have been comparing this fight to Trinidad v Whitaker. Trinidad is no way near as fast as Norris and true Tito hit harder but Norris had very good power.

I have to go against the grain here. Norris was at times a very reckless puncher and even though Sweet Pea was at his best at welter and below - I think he boxes Terry norris silly. I mean Oscar was a lot bigger than Sweet Pea and he was catching air with seven punch combinations.

If Tito in his prime couldn't knock out an old Sweet pea then I don't think Norris would even look good against him.

Sweet Pea would have moved like he always does & would have frustrated Norris. Tito was a harder puncher than Norris & he never had Pernell in trouble when they fought. Pernell had an excellent chin & great movement & great defensive skills. Norris wasn't in his class after defeating Sugar Ray Leonard then Norris did absolutely nothing after that. Whitaker in a easy decision.

I will take Norris to not only outpoint Whitaker but out box him.

Whitaker did lack in power and Norris is just too good on his feet to even get caught off balance which would be the only way Whitaker would knock Norris down.

Also to every one's concern this Maurice kid know absolutely nothing about boxing and has proven that on a question I asked Rock Vs Iron. GO answer it and check out what this kid put lol. It's totally hilarious!

Though both are hall of famers, I think Whitaker would beat Norris on points. Norris was very good in his prime, but Whitaker may have been the best defensive fighter of all time.

I look at this fight two ways, one, Norris is bigger, stronger and has a power advantage. Two, Whitaker is very clever, deceptive, speedy, and knows how to fight defensive and frustrate his opponent in the ring. This would be a very frustrating fight for Terry early on but he would finally start connecting with the heavier punches midways through the fight with Whitaker holding on. The split decision goes to Terrible Terry in this one as the bigger man prevails.

Terry Norris. He was way too big. Most people couldn't hit sweat pea, true, but i bet that Terry Norris had a much longer reach than most fighters and definately enough speed to either keep pernell at bay and/or hit him.

Norris would beat the crap out of Whitaker, but get disqualified for doing something stupid at the end of the fight. So I guess my pick would be Whitaker.
