I don't really like to wear makeup but I feel like I need at least some to go out. What is a good, easy, minimalistic approach to wearing makeup and still looking nice?

Just perfect the skin with foundation and already you look like a million bucks. Put some mascara, maybe some blush. To look dressed up quick, a bold lip color is the fastest way. Check out the lipstick queen's "oxymoron" gloss to give you a matte, sophisticated, but low maintenance pout

First of all, I applaud you for taking the minimalist approach towards makeup. The "Natural-Chic" look is a great way to look polished but not "overly done", and is something I think every other girl should go for.

So with that said here are the 5 Basic Items you'll be needing to acheive that "minimal but put together look". Outlined bellow are also the steps to utilize these tools:

Step 1. Tinted Moisturizer- Not only will this stuff hydrate your skin, providing the perfect base for makeup, but it will also help to lightly even it out. Unlike foundation, tinted moisturizer is very sheer and only covers what needs to be covered- it will not add layers upon layers of heavy product onto the skin. A great oil-free one to try is Cliniques Moisture Sheer Tint SPF 15 ($25). This stuff does not clog pores, and is suitable for all skintypes. As well, it also has SPF 15 to protect skin from the sun. It's practically 3 products (moisturizer, light foundation, sunblock) in one compact tube!

Step 2. Concealer - For the heavy duty coverage, concealer is your bestfriend. Lightly dab on a bit of concealer on any areas that the tinted moisturizer did not cover too well, such as your pimples and undereye circles (if you have any that is). A good one to try is Physicians Formula 4-1 Concealer Palette $9: It has a selection of colors you can blend with to acheive the right coverage, plus a green cream concealer that you can dab on to any pimples to treat redness

Step 3. Highlighter - For that extra wash of color on your face, you can never go wrong with a pigmented highlighter. Try Neutrogena Shimmer Sheers All Over Color in Rapture $8. As a 3 in 1 product (a pretty pink blush - a shimmery eyeshadow - and a soft lipbalm), this product is a real bargain. Just lightly dab this product on your cheeks, eyelid, and lips, for that pretty and brigthened look. By applying this, you enhance and "highlight" your features, but in a soft and subdued way.

Step 4. Mascara - This stuff should be every girls bestfriend. Depending on what you are looking for , there are multitudes of mascara brands and products you can choose from - volumizing, lengthening, curling, seperating, priming, coloring, tinting , etc. However, to acheive the most minimalist look, you can apply clear tint mascara (this should only be used if you have long, dark, and curled lashes) or the most favorite - lengthening and seperating mascara. Try Covergirls LashExact Mascara $6 for the best lengthening and non-clumpy look. A few coats of this stuff should help you acheive that pretty- but not trying too hard - look. **By the way, a great way to enhance your eyes is to curl your lashes with a lash curler prior to applying mascara. Not only will it brighten your eyes, but it will give a flirty but subtle flair to your look.

Step 5: Lipgloss - to tie the whole look together, swipe a bit of clear lipgloss over your lips. It will give just the right amount of sheen that it won't overwhelm your look.

**And there you have it -a simple, quick, and effective way of achieve a flawless yet natural look, that keeps you look fresh and polished**
**By the way, this is a great base for creating more makeup looks. Just carry out steps 1-5 and add some more steps of your own to create a more intense look.

all you need is eyeliner on top and bottom(if u wanna know what it looks like just let me know, most ppl think they get what i mean by the top and bottom thing but most ppl do it wrong)
a shade of lipglosss that makes u look hot(but not toooooo glossy)
and a bit of mascara(dip it in clean out the clumps with toilet paper.so it doesn't look as heavy.apply to the top and a smigid on the bottom lashes )and a tad bit of blush but only if you need it

then you look glamorous and ready to hit the streets hoped i helped:)

Just the basic eyeliner and lipstick will be a great starter. If there is a MAC store or Dilliards or Macy's in your area, the MAC booth professionals will give you a free make-over and just get what you like.

Good luck!!

look for the right shade of foundation that suits you. a mascara and nice lip gloss is essential. if you want, a natual color blusher go make your cheeks glow....remember to go for colors that are simple and close and your skin color....
most importantly, you are comfortable with what you are using
