My first job was as a paperboy - it was fun, for the most part. The only problem I ever had was getting bitten by a dog. But that was relatively minor.
I guess it depends on the neighborhood/area you'd be wroking in and it also helps to be alert to possible dangers. Perhaps parents or the newpaper folks could give some guidelines on how to be safe.

No. The health insurance is usually inadequate. One finds that death by neglect can be a high price to pay for distribution of the written word.
Then there are those who don't like news papers. Read Kill the Messenger, for instance.
In fact in our society there is but one safest form of self expression: "get them first".
