This amendment would have made it illegal for anyone with "terms of nobility" as in "esquire" (a favorite of lawyers!) to be an elected official of the federal government.

Strangely, this amendment, though ratified by a sufficient number of then existing states, managed to disappear from the books during the civil war and be replaced by the current version of the 13th amendment, banning slavery.

Can you imagine the clarity of government we might have had today had lawyers been banned from the legislation? It would truly have been a government "of the people, by the people, and for the people."

I have been the assistant to my boss for over 5 ½ years now. Her and I are a team. We run HER desk. I am her only assistant and she is my only boss. Recently, business has been slow and the company had to lay off several employees. Luckily, I was able to keep my job but I not have to assist another woman (as her assistant was laid off). NO BIG DEAL TO ME. I am, however, experience a LOT of bitterness between my boss and this other woman. From the other woman losing her assistant to my boss having to share hers (me). This other lady has been making real snide remarks about my boss, etc. I really want to mention one of them to my boss. This other lady emailed me saying, “Seeing as your boss is on the internet, I’m assuming she’s not very busy so I have lots for you to do today and tomorrow. It really URKES me that she’s acting this way! There’s really nothing I can do. I don’t want to complain because I just might be laid off for some off the wall reason!

For over a year, I haven't been feeling like myself: I eat healthy (meat, fish, fruits, veggies) and excercise a lot. But when I wake up, I feel horrible: Usually with headache or faint nausea, my eyes feel heavy and burning and overall I just want to crawl back to sleep. It is getting worse: I am getting up later and later and don't feel good until late in the afternoon. Then I need to catch up with work and activities and ride on my late energy rush until wee hours at night, which makes it worse.

I am worried because now, I feel well only a few hours out of the day: My mind feels cloudy and although I still manage to function, I have to constantly kick myself. From the overall symptoms, I seem to suffer from adrenal fatigue. I'm in a difficult financial situation and I really can't afford pills or missing work. Anyone knows of a specific food or activity that directly improves adrenal glands? Again, I eat very well but maybe there is a specific nutrient I should be getting.

Earlier this year, I declared that I was going to write a book about how to get the most out of a higher education. I have lots of credible, valid research I can do at my university, with books I already have, and my writing skills. I have many fears: There are already millions of self-help books on the market, and I'm afraid my voice and ideas will just get lost in the ubiquitous glut of these books. I don't know what my tone should be, either. I aim to reach people of all ages who want a higher education, and I want to sound valid and credible without being condescending. Any suggestions on how I should market my book so it will stand out, and the best kind of tone to use?
