Methane isn't formed in their gut because it is inhabited with different bacteria than a cows intestines.

Kangaroo is also the Aborigine word for "I don't know", When asked by the settlers what that animal was, they were told Kangaroo, meaning I don't know!

Great put-down for the obnoxious male who won't stop pestering, smile sweetly and say "Did you know kangaroos can't fart?" That will get rid!

Sorry to be a bore, but I did know.

It was on here about a year ago (see link) and was on the marvellous TV programme "QI".

Scientists are trying to isolate the bacteria that 'roos have in their gut to see if it could prevent cows from farting.

No, I did not already know that. Uh, thanks for sharing the info.

If we had to cull any animals to reduce methane in the atmosphere, (hopefully that'd never happen anyway), at least now we know that it would be wasteful to kill off the kangaroos. THE EARTH IS SAVED...!! YOU HAVE SAVED THE EARTH!

Is that possible? I thought all mammals digest and pass gas....Another amusing tidbit of unnecessary knowledge...I think I'll tell my kids.

Of course I knew this, did you not know that that is also the reason why kangaroos jump so high....
