I've searched the web and found a recipe called grape jelly meatballs, but it uses a lot of ingredents. The recipe I used to have was simple.

I've made this one many times, I've never used green chiles but you could certainly chop them up and add them in. I always make my own meat balls by mixing ground beef and ground sausage with some seasoned bread crumbs.

INGREDIENTS
2 pounds lean ground beef
1 1/4 cups grape jelly
1 cup chili sauce
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a large roasting pan with foil.
Shape ground beef into golf sized balls. Arrange them on the large roasting pan.
Bake the meatballs for 20 to 25 minutes.
While the meatballs are baking, combine the jelly, chili sauce and lemon juice in a Dutch oven. When the meatballs finish cooking add them to the Dutch oven.
Cover the oven and simmer on low for 30 minutes. Serve the meatballs hot

Here is another one

INGREDIENTS
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup dried bread crumbs
1/3 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup milk
1 egg
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 cup shortening
12 fluid ounces tomato-based chili sauce
1 1/4 cups grape jelly
DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, onion, milk, egg, salt, Worcestershire sauce, and ground black pepper. Mix together, and shape into meatballs.
In a large skillet, heat shortening over medium heat. Add meatballs, and cook until browned, about 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from skillet, and drain on paper towels.
Add chili sauce and jelly to skillet; heat, stirring, until jelly is melted. Return meatballs to skillet, and stir until coated. Reduce heat to low. Simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes.

The one that you're thinking of is this one, I'll bet:

12 oz bottle Heinz (or similar) Chili Sauce (near the ketchup in the condiments aisle of the market)
12 oz Grape Jelly

Bag of frozen mini meatballs (available just about everywhere)

In a large sauce pan, combine the Chili Sauce and the Grape Jelly (and you can use a can of Ortega Diced Green Chiles, but I think that they'd change the overall flavor) simmer over medium heat, add meatballs and lower the temperature and heat for about an hour........How simple is that??? And everybody will be asking what your "secret" recipe is......BTW, this has been around since the early 1960's, as my mom used to make it all the time for appetizers for cocktail parties........Enjoy!!!

Here's one my mom made for years and now I make for my family. I guess you could add a can of green chilies.

SWEET AND SOUR MEATBALLS

10 oz. grape jelly
12 oz. Heinz Chili Sauce, bottled
2 lbs. ground beef

Pour grape jelly in large skillet. Melt on medium heat, stirring constantly. Add chili sauce. Mix well.

Make small meatballs, brown on all sides, then drop into sweet and sour mixture, simmer about 30 minutes.

Can be made in crock pot and made the night before then reheat when ready to serve.

My recipe is even easier.
Buy premade meatballs in the store.
Put a can cranberry sauce and one can spaghetti sauce in pot. When it simmers, put in meatballs. Cook until done.
You can make your own meatballs, too, but this works well.
