For over a year, I haven't been feeling like myself: I eat healthy (meat, fish, fruits, veggies) and excercise a lot. But when I wake up, I feel horrible: Usually with headache or faint nausea, my eyes feel heavy and burning and overall I just want to crawl back to sleep. It is getting worse: I am getting up later and later and don't feel good until late in the afternoon. Then I need to catch up with work and activities and ride on my late energy rush until wee hours at night, which makes it worse.

I am worried because now, I feel well only a few hours out of the day: My mind feels cloudy and although I still manage to function, I have to constantly kick myself. From the overall symptoms, I seem to suffer from adrenal fatigue. I'm in a difficult financial situation and I really can't afford pills or missing work. Anyone knows of a specific food or activity that directly improves adrenal glands? Again, I eat very well but maybe there is a specific nutrient I should be getting.

Have you been formally diagnosed? If not, I strongly suggest you see a doctor...self diagnosis is never wise and is usually incorrect. There are so many things that this could be. Some of them are:
hypothyroidism
chronic fatigue syndrome
anemia
depression
heart issues
lung issues
Addison's disease
Cushing's disease
mono
lupus
sleep apnea
and so many, many more!

Of course, treatment will depend on what is causing the fatigue and your other symptoms so a visit to the doctor is imperitive. In the meantime, you can try taking vitamin C and vitamin B complex to see if they help but they will not take the place of a visit to the doctor!

P.S. If you can't afford a doctor visit and you are near a large city, please contact the local hospital for the name and address of the nearest free clinic or sliding scale clinic. Then you can get care for free or based on your ability to pay.
