USA was once full of indigents...and then something called "progress" happened. Otherwise, we would still be sharpening crappy tools with stone, not accumulating wealth, and bitching for everyone else to help us with redonkulous and easily preventible diseases like AIDS. No more help for africa. They can figure it out on their own.

Following two weeks of investigation, re-reporting and fact checking, it appears that the writer in question has not been precisely honest.

To briefly recap: Pvt. Scott Thomas Beauchamp was writing stories for The New Republic (TNR) under the pseudonym, Scott Thomas -- allegedly relating insider stories from the front lines. Some of Thomas' stories, appearing in TNR didn't ring true to close readers, some of whom had been in Iraq at the times and places where Beauchamp's tales supposedly took place.

I've written a couple of short stories and poems and stuff, and my head is full of ideas for more stories and novels and charecters. But I find it impossible to actually get it all out of me, onto paper and into a form that makes sence, and is enjoyable to read. My writing style is good, and I think that my content will be good, I just need to get it down. And I have the perfect oppertunity now as I have a job where i have time to write, and I finish at 4, so plenty of time to brainstorm etc. I just need some tips etc.

My boyfriend of three and a half years and I own a house have lived together for almost three years and now he drops a bomb shell. We have always said we wanted kids, but not while we were still young. So I have been taking the steps over the years to provide a home and finances for a child to come into our lives. But now that I am ready he says deep down he has wanted to wait because he really does not want to have kids. He would rather spend the money on trips and materialistic stuff. Where as I have always dreamed of being the stay at home wife and have created my business to be out of my home so that I could earn money and be at home for everyone. My question is he is now thinking we may just be to comfortable with each other and are really going separate ways. He is thinking of breaking up with me. Does anyone think that we can get over this and find a common ground or are we kidding ourselves and it was over awhile ago?

Dentist can inject an anesthesia with their needles into your gums without causing any pain, if they wanted to, but they don't seem to care. I know for a fact they can, because I've had it done. You would think they would care, in order to keep their clients. Most dentist remind me of Steve Martin in "Little House of Horrors" where he played a sociopathic dentist that relished in causing pain, which makes me wonder if Martin's portrayal was telling us the truth about dentist. It seems true to me.

This is not the first time that I saw this in my little city in India( pondicherry now puducherry). The streets here are very busy and crossing it is dangerous, for dogs it usually is life and death deal. But this dog waited till it saw someone who was crossing then followed him behind till he reached the other side then it left the person and went on it's way. I was impressed at first, but then I thought it just happened by chance. what do you think about it? tell me about some strange dog cases you have seen. Is it possible this dog found it safe to follow a person than doing it itself? ( there were no Zebra crossings and the person wasn't carrying anything )

I am not clear on the differences in these three studies in Geology and I would like to know which would be the best degree to pursue if I hope to work "hands-on" in the petroleum or even a research field (my true dream) - which would be the most pertinent and useful?

I want to eventually get my Master's and even Doctorate, but that is fo the future ... but I do want to know which direction I ought to be headed in.

No glib encouragements to "do what I want" please, I "want" all three - I want people with experience to tell me which they find to be most useful. :)

I;ve heard some people say we need universal healthcare because the government is more accountable to the people than businesses. So if anyone believes that, I have two followups:

About time someone on Team McCann have seen Gerry for the liability he is.

Still Kate is hopeless as well, but at least shes more likely to be unable to conceal key information so hopefully we will get more answers if she's brought to the fore.
