I've actually thought about this. It would depend on my age at the time, how I got that way, and if there was any chance of fully recovering and living a full life. If I'm old (70 or higher), and I was sick for a long time or if I was in a bad accident, and there was no way I could recover and live fully again, I say go ahead and pull that sucker. No use draining all our finances and resources for a lost cause. Live with dignity or not at all.

I think there are a lot of factors to that one, if I was older (say 70 or older) just let me go, but if I'm my age (20) and there was still some brain activity I'd want to stay on, however if I was purely vegetative and have had no activity for several months and had a machine breathing for me, it's best that I move on to somewhere else. There is no sense in my family spending all that money just to say I'm alive, because I'm really not.

Well hopefully the medical team will have looked at my directive & never have put me on life support to begin with! But having said that, if they messed up, which they have been known to do a time or two, yes, pull the plug & then hopefully my family would sue them for millions.
I'm just saying.............

If we are in a vegitative state we cannot have any thought, moreover to know our situation and decide not to continue like this.
I personally, have my days of vegitative state of mind and I admit these days are the most easy of my life.
And if anyone touches the cord, let him drown in Hell!

Miracles, do happen.... who is to decide to whom?
Who is to decide about eliminating just a slightest hope for this miracle.
I really don't know....

If I knew that there was no chance of me coming out in a productive state, then yes. I wouldn't want to put my family through the suffering and let them get on with their lives.

yep, I say pull the plug if there is no way that I'd ever snap out of it or couldn't live WITHOUT life support.
Uhhhhhhh...Susan....if you were in that situation, you wouldn't be able to make that decision...you'd be brain dead. That is the whole point of a living will, people.
