Not here to argue but RScott is the first person claiming to be a Master Gardener that I have ever heard say that dog feces can be used as fertilizer. Every garden site I visit states that feces from meat eating animals should not be used for edible garden products. It is the bacteria that is the problem. Can't wash off bacteria.

Like everything else, a dogsh*t volume reduction plan costs money. The more you spend on better dog food, the smaller the sh*t volume you have to deal with.
Don't know of any practical uses for a pile of Lab turds. So, its best to go with Science Diet or Iams for your dog.

No. Unfortunately. I have a lab the same size, so I know what you mean. Basically cow or horse manure is good for fertilizer. Dog is just crap. However, if you feed him better quality of food, he won't crap as much. The cheap stuff has a lot of filler he can't digest.

As a Master Gardener I'm supposed to tell you not to use cat and dog doo in the garden - there I've said it! But in my humble opinion crap is crap, why waste it. True there are some issues with cat scat and pregnant women but I don't plan on getting preggers. I do two things with mine, bury it shallow or throw it on the compost pile. Again some take issue with using this on veggies but if they think there gardens aren't being used by the local critters as an outhouse they're delusional. They need to "get a grip" and wash there veggies. RScott

I really don't think dog feces is a very good fertiliser, I would use rabbit, horse or cow personally

No Way...meat eating animal poo...BAD
The reason Rabbit, Horse, and Cow poo is okay is because they eat vegetable matter, not meat or meat products.
Here is an article that may be of assistance:
