But their actions don't seem very Christian to me. Just looking for some clarification.

Assuming that you want a dog to be protective, I have begun to question the logic behind having an "over-socialized" dog. Wouldn't it be more useful to have a dog that is neutral to people. I am not saying people shouldn't socialize their dogs, they should.

Note: this is a matter of pure preference, but please substantiate your opinion.

We're building the George H. W. Bush aircraft carrier. Last time I checked we had ten of these things. Each of them carries 85 combat jets, helicopters, AWACs style planes and so on. The carrier costs 4.5 billion dollars and 160 million a year to operate. Every aircraft on it costs 35 million dollars and up. So let's not even bother with the math. It's obvious that one less carrier battle group would pay for a LOT of infrastructure.

I have read most of Jonathan Kozol's "The Shame of the Nation," and for our college summer reading assignment I've most recently read "The Working Poor" by David Shepler.

From what I can gather, from speaking about the cycle of poverty, the solution must be one that encompasses multiple problems at once. Because poverty is a cycle, no one event will break it, because they are all interconnected. Some of these basic issues include: poor education, poor motivation, hopelessness, (sometimes) malnutrition, early pregnancies, inexperience in the workplace, low self esteem... and the list goes on.

Some of the most successful programs that I have heard of (though few exist, from what little I hear of it) are those that coach people. In my personal opinion, the most helpful of these on a longer-term scale are those that focus on establishing an adult's self-esteem and preparation/training for entering the workforce and maintaining a job.

I recently sent Papa Damn a mesage, requesting to join the Damn family. His reply: "I think it should be put to vote. If you post a question about it we can all vote."

So, here I am. Will you accept me into your family?

A question was asked to me about Newton's law of motion. It asked, "Supposing you were in space in a weightless environment, would it require a force to set an object in motion?" My initial thought was that in space, there is no gravity or friction, and therefore an object would stay in motion forever. However, it was revealed to me that force is still required to move an object in space and that the object still has inertia, which resists change in motion. But my initial thought still stands. So I guess my question is: Can an object be in a perfectly still state in space?

Mr. Rogers hates his neighbor. The neighbor has a garage band and they practice late at night. Mr. Rogers has complained to the neighbor that he can't sleep but the neighbor keeps playing at all hours of the night. Mr. Rogers works the morning shift at a grocery store where he has worked his entire life and hates going to work tired. One day Mr. Rogers decides to break into the garage where the band stores their instruments. He plans to steal the instruments and throw them in the dump. While Mr. Rogers is in the garage he finds a marijuana growing operation in a room off of the garage. Mr. Rogers leaves the garage and goes to the Police. He tells the Police that he broke into the garage and was looking for the instruments when he found the marijuana plants. The Police use this statement from Mr. Rogers in a search warrant for the neighbor's house. Can this statement be used as probable cause in a search warrant? Why?

I was watching the republican debate when this topic came up. If we take into consideration the utilities and energy used, paper wasted, personnel hired to work for the IRS (clerks, telephone helpers, IRS agents, etc.), building maintenance, benefits, plus whatever costs I may havemissed, how much would the federal government really save if we totally got rid of the IRS per the fair tax bill?
