It's past my bedtime, and I'm one sleepy girl. But I can't go to sleep, because last night I had this really scary dream. The Teletubbies were chasing me, ganging up on me even though I kept yelling *I haven't got any damn custard!!!" It was awful really. So, can somebody tell me a story before I go to bed? A funny one. Without those damn teletubbies in it? *and just to be safe, no clowns either* Thank you.

My mother still has the bassinet that she used with us, that her mother used with her, and that her mother used with her. The thing is like 100 years old. I mentioned that I might not want to use it with my child, because I've heard some horror stories about old furniture and safety hazards and such, and she got SO OFFENDED and went off on how "it was good enough for her" and now I can't talk to her without her blowing up about something.

Am I wrong about this? Would the bassinet be fine? It's not like it's in terrific shape, it's been in storage for almost 20 years.

If, indeed, it would be dangerous, how can I explain to her that the safety of my child is more important to me than appeasing the family tradition?

I've even offered just to have the bassinet in the room, for decoration. She's just so offended, she acts like I think I'm better than her or something, when I just want to watch out for the safety of my not-yet-born child.

Help?

Im planning on going out of country for my senior spring break and im trying to decide where to go in 3 different countries....i've already know 2 of the 3 places i would like to go but im still trying to figure out where to go in Australia....i cant seem to figure it out.

that right now in this point in time there's a person doing god knows wat....and ur going to meet that person one day and get married to them and have kids with them...but u dont kno it...and they dont kno it either?! and ur both blissfully unaware until that one moment when u meet?! i mean right now my future lover or husband is out there in the world and i dont even know them yet, but they're there!!! ahhhhh that's just so cool and intriguing 2 me!!!!! have u ever wondered that as well?!

Question #1:
How early is to early to give a puppy a bath. They will be five weeks this Friday. Momma isnt cleaning their bottoms and the poop is getting stuck. Should I be concerned about this? The poop isnt runny really, but is kinda soft? No diarreha. And why isnt momma cleaning them? Its her first litter, but has done a great job so far??????????

Question #2:
Should I be offering puppy food yet? They are just now getting their teeth. If I do offer should it be moistened?
Question #3:
Is it to early to start the potty training process? They seem to really like to get out of the kennel and squat on the newspapers, poop and pee. I dont want them paper trained. Prefer for them to go outside.

Question #4:
How many hours of play time do they need? I have three kids who have picked them up since day one, everyday. I am a stay at home momma, and have no problem taking them out of the kennel several times a day, but just want to make sure I am giving them enough.

I'M A GIRL AND DON'T KNOW SH*T ABOUT CARS, SO I'M JUST GOING TO EXPLAIN THIS THE BEST I CAN, OKAY? DON'T MAKE FUN!

I drive a '93 Pontiac Grand Am SE (4-cylinder)

Two weeks ago, I had the heater core replaced and since, the car has ran fine. Today I was driving home (didn't have the car running for more than ten min) and I noticed a horrible burning rubber smell, which I thought could have been the car beside me, but it wasn't. I noticed the AC was making a weird hissing sound and the cold air stopped coming out. Keep in mind, the tempature guage never got even close to hot. Whenever I turned the AC off, the sound went away. I pulled up in the driveway, shut the car off, popped the hood and white smoke was coming out. The smoke was coming from that black belt that wraps around the side of the ulternator. It continued to smoke and stink 'til the belt just popped right off. My hubby looked at it & said the "tension pulley and the ulternator is fine."

So, what's wrong then?

okay so i have heard 2 storys about getting pregnant after you have been on birth control. First is after you get off birth control it can take months before you are able to get pregnant. The other is your most fertile after you get off birth control. which of these would be true? my husband is overseas right now due to be home in june, we are planning to try for our 3rd child. right now i am on bc to regulate my periods, but i would like to know the truth to these storys so i can choose to stick with the bc or end it so i have the best chance of getting pregnant when he comes home. please let me know anything you may know about this. My fiance, of 3 years and I found out today that i'm 5 weeks pregnant.
We're extremely excited.
Yes, we're financially ready.
No, this wasn't exactly planned.

We DO NOT want to rush into getting married just because we're having a child BUT we DO plan on getting married before the child goes to school (most likely a year or 2 before).
* My mom and dad got married about a year before i headed off to preschool.

My side of the family, meaning grandparents, are not too fond of children without marriage and i understand.

Any advice on when/how to break the news?
(my mom is the only one who knows, she's soo happy!)

So many boys/men are having tatoos that one would think they believe that they are not only making a statement but also that the tatoos somehow are attractive to the opposite sex.Is this true?

Is it just Vietnam/1960's era nostalgics and young minions stuck in liberal schools who think this way? We're doomed as a country if this is the thought processes of the younger generation. Emotion does not a logical thought make. I'm sad for my future children. This country won't be around for them if my peers (I'm 25 myself) all reason the way most of the folks that answered that question do. :(
