Is it just Vietnam/1960's era nostalgics and young minions stuck in liberal schools who think this way? We're doomed as a country if this is the thought processes of the younger generation. Emotion does not a logical thought make. I'm sad for my future children. This country won't be around for them if my peers (I'm 25 myself) all reason the way most of the folks that answered that question do. :(

Bring on the hate mail...

Americans lost their ability to apply logic and reason when the political correct move started to weigh heavily on all citizens. Come to think of it, I think Americans have the ability to apply logic and reason but are too scared of the government to do so. Have you noticed that no justice can occur without someone playing the political correct card? It's ridiculous. The liberals and hippies are to blame for this.

The general ethos of the Leftist mind necessitates that you must resist restraining conservative impulses. Logic and reason are restraining impulses. Since modern liberalism is primarily a state of unrestrained emotional turbulence, the liberal must find reasons for excusing his most base emotional instincts and instead embrace the “liberation” that comes from not being able to summon reason to control impulses. Many consequently fall prey to the tempting natural impulse of letting emotion override logic and reason. The liberal creed dictates that feelings are more important than anything and that they shall hold court over reason

You are far too young to even understand what the Cold War was about. And, there was no logic to the Vietnam war whatsoever. It was an illogical war and even many conservatives understood that. One doesn't need to be a Communist to be against war. as a matter of fact, war is the ultimate break down of reason and logic. Your rantings on Communism and Socialism taking over this country are fear based and formed by propaganda. It too is not steeped in logic or reason. To come to a reasonable conclusion about anything, you must be willing to dive deeply into the understanding of that thing you are talking about, namely the American society in this case as it pertains to the systems of communism and socialism. And, you haven't so far. And, I can tell you first hand there is no connection unless you consider corporate communism and take over our government a real threat. Then I would tell you that I agree with this assessment whole heartedly.

BTW, Sweden is socialist. ARe you afraid of them? all of Europe is socialist, are you afraid of them? Please stop this nonsense and fear mongering, you're being a bit naive. Bernie Sanders is a socialist in the same way Sweden is socialist. It has nothing to do with Communist dictatorships. Please go educate yourself on what socialism is in economic terms and not on fear based terms.

Hey, I was ripping into Socialism for destroying personal liberties, so don't throw ALL of the people who answered into the same group. Just thought I'd point that out.

its a sad state of affairs.

Our policies are really wacko.

We do things that harm us, but are convinced they are for our own good.

We have laws but say its ok to wink and let people break them.

If you advocate buy american, americans snap at you now and call you racist or an idiot.

We are willing to allow government to spy on us at will if we communicate with any foreigner......and atty. general gonzalez a known liar and flunky of the president gets to decide.

we trade with countries that use the money to give weapons to our enemies.....heck we give weapons to our enemies to kill our soldiers.

This like a bad anti nazi comedy film from the late 1930's.

You're the emotional one. I don't go around posting random diatribes on Yahoo answers, you do.

I think you have 1950's era nostalgia.

Communism is dead. Stop fighting straw men.
