The term Victorian, Edwardian, Georgian etc are all as most of us know named after the ruling monarch of that time. I was just wondering does the rest of the world go by these terms also and if not how would I explain the Victorian era to someone else who doesn't use it?

my mother constantly strikes me and my sister with metal coat hangers whenever she gets angry. she also strikes us with fists and often belittles us. she says that we will fail in life and that we are worthless. she also often tells me to just go dies right now and tells me to go live on the street. she says not to eve bother coming back and asking for tuiton money for college. my sister is almost 9 years old and i turn 15 in three months. can i report her for child abuse even though there are no visible strike marks or bruises? please help. this has been going on for way too long. my father also sometimes is struck by her, whether by her fists or an object she throws.

Below is the story of my eyes and what happened with them and what I've been doing to help them up until now:

I first noticed it last Saturday (July 28). I woke up with two small wrinkles underneath my left eye, but both of them were itchy. I left for a swim championship, and my eyes continued to get itchier, now along with my face. On the way home from the meet, my mom suspected it was an allergic reaction, so we went to get Benadryl. (Note: I have never been allergic to anything or had an allergic reaction)

Throughtout the rest of the day, my eye started swelling and continued to itch. I went to bed, expecting it to be gone the next day.
When I woke up, (July 29) My whole eye was swollen shut! It was huge! Plus, my whole face and part of my neck had broken out in an ictchy rash. To add to matters, my right eye was begining to swell.

So...I'm a teenager, I would say I have a pretty nice face (not like OMG GORGEOUS, but definitely not ugly). I'm slender, 110 pounds and im 5'3''. I do have some curves, and I do dance regularly so I have a toned body. The only thing is, I barely fill out an A cup...
Basically, I have a nice face, a pretty nice overall shape, and an outgoing personality but no boobs...
I just want to know how much it matters to guys. I'm going into highschool next year and I want to start dating, but I'm scared nobody will like me because of it...

With all the talk of discrimination of one sort or another these days I think I must be a victim of height discrimination because I have to pay extra on a plane to sit in a seat that provides the same comfort to me as a shorter person has in a regular seat. Discrimination or not??

i am drawing an analogy between tv programme editing and fish products!

on the one hand you get lovely long interesting substantial chunks, that you can feast your eyes [and metaphorically - your teeth on]

and on the other you get just a mass of shredded little tiny bits of "minced whitefish....none of which last even as long as a full second........and instead of giving you a visual area to explore at your leasure while you listen to the commentary, you're battered by a blizzard of tiny cuts that make you feel like youve gone ten rounds with mike tyson......after just a couple of minutes of the programme.

for the second time in two days ive had to turn the t.v off because i cant stand being visually "abused" / or visually raped by an intrusive editor.

is the "minced whitefish" editing style only suitable for the low attention span retard audience, that watches mtv.

and should programmers sack talentless editors who just try to conceal their lack of talent behnd qikstyle

I have not known this guy very long, but I keep thinking about him. He knows I'm in a rocky relationship which I'm trying to get out of.

I think he would think he is too old for me. Problem is I see him in a "professional" setting only. I won't be seeing him for that long either but I want to give him some idea that I am interested before then. I'm not great at flirting - its something new for me, I've always been very shy. Before I meet him I get so nervous, but once I'm there I relax and he puts me at ease.
