Hey girlies!

Like other girls, i absolutely LOVE getting my period (for all you serious folks, that was a joke), especially at school.

I need some suggestions on how to handle my period at school.

I have ruled out not changing my pad or tampon all day, so forget that.

Thanks for all your help!

Yeah you're right, periods at school suck XD
And so does not changing your pad all day, so you're right to rule that out.

My suggestion probably isn't original, but yeah...
Always take pads and tampons to school with you. Because even if it's not your period yet, it could come a little early, so it always pays to be prepared. Plus, it always gives you the chance to help out an unprepared friend, too.
That also means that when you're on your period at school, you have a plentiful supply so that you don't have to worry.

Your best bet is to change your pad/tampon just before school, and at break and lunchtime, and then after school as well. As long as you remember to change it every 2/3 hours, you'll be fine, and if the opportunity doesn't arise, you can always ask to go during a lesson.

Physical education can be a problem too, when your on your period. If you have PE and are embarrassed, it isn't as obvious that your on your period as you think. But if you want to be less self-conscious when your getting changed, you could try using a tampon instead of a pad, and maybe use a pantyliner as well so you feel that little extra bit protected.

Well, I hope i helped =P x

Before you go to school put in a tampon and wear a pad too then when its time to change your tampon change it and you still got your pad there if you don't want to insert a new tampon. plus you don't have to take your back pack our your purse with you if you leave class to go to the bathroom. I always wore a pad with a tampon on my heavy flow days at school because sometimes teachers don't let you go to the bathroom or you gotta take a test or something. the pad will help stop embarrassing leak through. hope that helps you! oh and a good little trick ...wash your hands before you go touching yourself then wet some paper towel before you go into the stall and if any blood gets on your hands you can wipe it off with out having to go to the sink with bloody hands...still wash your hands but now no one will see the blood.

Change your tampon every 3-4 hours during school. I always timed it out to put a new one in before school (7). During my study hour I'd change it which was 10am. Then I would change it either during lunch (12:30) or during hall passing times. I'd just always keep them in my pocket. It was discreet and nice. I feel for you. I hated that too.

The only thing I can think of is not wearing any light color bottoms especially white... and keep changing pad or tampon...like whenever you get a restroom break..

Always, always carry a pad in your purse...at least nowadays they come in those cushy little packages - not like when I was growing up and had to wrap those huge babies in a paper sack...ev1 knew what it was; change when you feel it necessary. Anyhoo, when you know it is about time for you to start, wear a pad for a few days beforehand and you will be protected in case you start in class.

put one in in the morning, then when you have like a break or study hall half way through the day change it then. you should only have to change it once at school. if its REALLY heavy, then change it after second period, and then after 4th period or something. hope this helps!

I think it's easier if you use pads (for changing), wear dark clothes, take Tylenol for cramps (if you have them), don't drink coffee, if you swim or exercise then use a tampon. Good luck.
