I know being hockey fans, your tendancy is going to be to say, hell yes, to this question. However I urge you to have an open mind and realize that they are funding billionaire owners and millionaire players. Also, it is cutting into other funds like education and health care. Also, it attributes to higher taxes.
Not everyone is a fan, should they be on the hook too?

One of the reasons I ask is that in the area where i live, there is a need for some type of complex for concerts and maybe a future CFL team. There seems to be a split group of people who have strong opinions on it on whether tax money should be used for this.

Personally, I am all for it, even if taxes go up a little but I am biased as a sports fan. Selfish of me maybe. Not sure.

Thoughts on this please?

Dear Non-Muslims-- A question for you?

Scenerio: You meet someone and they seem pretty nice. You talk and get to know them and become friends. After a few meetings he/she tells you they are a Muslim (considering the sister was not wearing hijab).

Would you start seeing them differently? Would you start seeing that Muslims are peace loving, God fearing folks?

This is not an absurd scenerio, in fact I know a lot of you would accept them even if you already knew they were Muslims. Is it possible that people can look away from the distorted view of Islam shown by the media.. and if not accept, atleast embrace that Islam is one of peace?

All opinions are welcome. Whether you agree with me or not. Lies are temporary while truth prevails.

Before it was the Blacks, Then the Jews, The Asians etc.. Now Muslims. How long will this last? History repeats itself. Lets stop this intolerance now.

History trivia? "Meeting of the three rivers........", current city.?

Hello all. My friend asked me this hisory trivia question, dealing with the meeting of the three rivers (Ohio river, Allegheny, and Monongahela river) and what that current city is (where the three rivers meet). If that makes sense. I looked online, and I found that maybe Muse, Pennsylvania is that current city, but can't find anything else. Any answers, ideas, etc? This is just driving me crazy!! Thanks!

How can I sympathize for a person who goes to a third world country and...?

thinks their the most righteous person on earth for handing these starving people bibles instead on what they actually need, food, water and vaccinations.

HOW can i respect a person who goes to africa a tells them its a sin to wear condoms! In a place where AIDs could potentially wipe out an entire contenent of people they tell them not to use condoms!

PC boot disk?

I need to try to use a boot disk on a friends HP desktop but it is one of the Slimline ones & they say that it does not have a 3.5" drive.
How can I do the boot disk in this case as it will not boot up on it's own for some reason?

Can I use a CD or flash drive in place of the 3.5" drive?

Amazing riddle my father taught me many years ago.?

O.K. A very poor common country man woos the kings daughter until she falls in love with him. The man goes to the king to ask for his daughters hand in marriage. The king says tomorrow I will have you pick one of my hands. In one will be a piece of paper with the word marriage on it. The other will read death. What you pick is what you get. The man agrees but hears the king through his door tell his advisor that he is going to write death on BOTH pieces of paper. The next day the king DOES write death on both pieces, the man DOES pick a hand - yet he marries the princess...How?
No....he doesn't kill the king. Yes, everyone agrees he picked marriage...

Has anyone here ever heard of the legend of the 36 Just Men?

It is said that as long as there are 36 'just' men alive on earth , God will not bring catastrophe down on humanity. I have excellent reason to believe there may be substance to this legend, for personal reasons I will not disclose..I will only say that in every generation a prophet is sent out to LOCATE the 36. I would be grateful if anyone has more information to add.

I understand bankruptcy can clean debts
If I have been damaged by someone who goes into bankruptcy, can I sue him after he emerges, or am I required to bring my complaint to the bankruptcy court, or what?
