It is said that as long as there are 36 'just' men alive on earth , God will not bring catastrophe down on humanity. I have excellent reason to believe there may be substance to this legend, for personal reasons I will not disclose..I will only say that in every generation a prophet is sent out to LOCATE the 36. I would be grateful if anyone has more information to add.

I can tell you this, I am one of the 36 and have been contacted by the prophet. When she contacted me, I was told I was the first of this generation and she said it was not looking good in there being 36 this year, she did say she still had a couple of years and was fairly confident that there would appear to her the other 35 afore time runs out.I hope this helps.

In the Old Testament God, speaking of Ninivah (a city) stated that he would not destroy the city if he could find 10 just men. He was unable to find these 10 men. He then said 1 just man and then not even finding that one man he destroyed the city of Ninivah. Babylon and Ninivah were much alike according to legend. There are some references in the New Testament to this but at present I cannot place exactly where. Sorry, I hope this helps because the Old testament is the only place I remember there being a reference to specific numbers and just men.

There are a lot more than any 36 just men out there. This can not be the Bible this idea sprang from. The Bible says the Just shall live by faith. Well, there are millions of faith living Godly men out there, and I will be generous spirited here. They all aren't of the Christian faith.

Friend the legend indicates (at least one version) that no one knows who they are and they themselves do not know that they are one of the thirty-six.
