I'm 18 and considering getting a job working for a company that installs air conditioning. My dad is freaking out that I won't stick with it and stuff but I really want somebody else's opinion/expierience. The pay is great and so are the benefits. Is it hard work?

An ejection pew that launches someone out the roof of the church, or a trap door that drops someone onto an underground slide ? Both would safely place the person in a rejection bin lined with foam. I am starting to think that a trap door would work much better since the person being rejected would not have to fly through the air - which would be dangerous. I don't want to get sued, I just want to be able to get rid undesireables easily without too much drama. The tough part of either design is that I do not know where these people might be sitting in the church, so I have to install these mechanisms everywhere... actually I take that back. They always seem to sit in the last few rows so that will make it easier.

Any ideas?

Our rental property has been damaged by 2 floods in the last 10 days from sudden downpours.
We're not the only house in the street that's been damaged as water is coming up the drains outside the properties and then flooding under the doors.
The electricity has shorted both times, the floor boards are all damp and stinking (carpets got ripped up after the 1st time), there's a visible inch of water underneath the floor, plus we had raw sewerage coming out the drains in front of the house. Add all that to the fact that we're likely to flood again if it rains more and I don't think the house is safe and fit to live in anymore.

Our contract states if the property is uninhabitable we're able to reclaim rent from our landlord - does anyone know how we go about doing this and who classifies it as such?

And even if it is decided it's habitable, are we liable to some sort of rent deduction/compensation as the flat obviously can't be worth what we're paying for it in the state it's in?

My on and off bf of ten years and I have broken up for good. I moved over 1,000 miles away hoping it would help me get over it but it hasn't. I feel completely awful and am so unhappy and depressed. I think about him all the time and it occupies all of my time. He cheated on me and lied to me numerous times, so why is it so hard to get over someone that treats you bad anyways? I feel like a lost a piece of myself and that I will never feel whole or normal again. I try to do things to occupy my time and thoughts but nothing works. He still calls me everyday and I talk to him but that just makes me upset, but I wonder why is he still calling me everyday. I don't know if I should talk to him or ignore him or what. I feel like I am going crazy and don't know how to get my normal fun self back. Any adivce, suggestions, ideas, or opinions would be appreciated.

I have a simple question. My lawyer sent my landlord a demand letter stating that i was injured on his property and due to his negligence. Something that was left hazardous to the tenants for over 7months. But any way, the same day he got the demand letter. He came knocking on my door, and my mom answered and he said to my mom that "he got the letter and that he had went to his attorney and his attorney stated that he could lose everything because of this one incident." Than he said " tell your son just don't sue me for a million dollars because i will lose everything." Should I tell my lawyers about the encounter and what he said to my mom or no? Also why?

I just wonder if the movement of kill the ego, is not that far from the idea of original sin?

That you are born with this part of you that is bad, and it needs to be cleansed.

I truly believe that your ego when serving the soul is one of our biggest allies.

If we where to Harness it's passion, yearning, energy, even greed, in service of our higher in my opinion we would get even further. I think it is a tool, and yes without a good bridal it can run wild like any strong horse, but I see it as a tool and not something to kill or be purified from.

What do you think? This is not a rhetorical question, I am really intrested in hearing other perspectives.
