I ask this because driving into work today I went by 2 men broken down on the side of the road. My first gut instinct was to pull over and ask if they needed help but then reason took over and I thought of other women who may have done the same, out of kindness, and paid a heavy price.
What do you think may be the percentage of women who have been raped because they were too nice and paid dearly for it?

Since the smoking ban came into force, there have been lots of comments from smokers arguing their right to smoke wherever they chose. They also tend to give thumbs down to anyone who dares to disagree. I will probably get the same response here.

But I'm going to give you a chance to show how reasonable you can be. Given that...

a) If you smoke in a room, and let's ignore the health issues for now, everyone else in the room WILL have to breath your smoke and WILL go home smelling of your smoke

b) If YOU are prevented from smoking in that same room, YOU are the only person who is personally affected

...justify to me, in any way other than a purely selfish one, why smoking should still be allowed in enclosed public spaces where non-smokers are present.

I have absolutely no problem with anyone smoking. It's your choice. I just don't see why I should have to deal with the consequences.

I await your responses with interest, but not a great deal of hope.

A scottish tourist attended his first baseball game in the US and after a base hit he hears the fans roaring"Run....Run!"

The next batter connects heavily with the ball and the scotsman stands up and roars with the crowd in his thick accent:"R-r-run ya bahstard,r-r-run will ya!"

A third batter hits a slam and again the scotsman,obviously pleased with his knowledge of the game,screams"R-r-run ya bahstard,r-r-run will ya!"

The next batter steadfastly holds his swing four times and as ump calls a walk the scotsman stands up and yells"R-r-run ya bhastard,run!"

All the surrounding fans giggle quietly and he sits down confused.A friendly fan,sensing his embarrasment,whispers to the scotsman,"He dosen't have to run,he's got four balls."

After this explanation the scotsman stands up in disbelief and screams,"Walk with pr-r-ride man!Walk with pr-r-ride!!!"

I live in Oregon and have heated with wood before,now I may have to resort to it again as I have to live on pennies on my retired fixed income and I'm sick. So why can't I just buy a do-able woodstove, get firewood which I know isn't cheap, but may be cheaper than the quadrupled nat. gas price and use wood heat. I haven't done it since 1988, so I need to be updated. I know there are burning reg. for air quality but I've been told locally in my city it isn't a problem. I know to buy wood is expensive but I can chop it down where I live. I'd like to know economic drawbacks etc. or benefits since I've been out of wood heat since 1988. I do have a place to put it,when I bought the house, they took the wood stove and their is a beautiful rock hearth and opening for the stove pipe chimney.

we have tried doing a restore back beyond the date this all happened and have even reinstalled windows xp but to no avail ! the lights on the modem are flashing, we have checked all the connections and abiut everything else we can think off - any help would be appreciated.

My boyfriend had previously fallen hard for a girl who treated him extremely badly...very manipulative, conniving, hurtful etc...she has done and said the most horrible things to him they were never in a relationship however have slept together a handful of times and he had stopped having feelings for her long before i came on the scene. However since i have come on the scene she is texting and calling him constantly to which i can only assume is Jealousy on her part. My boyfriend has been up front and honest showing me the texts and informing me of what she says in the phone calls...its definately not a reciprocated feeling on his part. This woman went as far as to ask him for sex and tried for about 20mins to convince him (it didn't)...i find her to be disrespectful to me and our relationship and this girl is in a relationship of her own....so please can anyone advise me how to best handle this situation?

My friend was recently accused of suspected sexual harrassement, he was arrested and bailed while investigation took place, there was no proof, no witnesses just a little sexual bantering went on that this women took the wrong way and "cried rape". No further action was the result by the police but throughout his whole ordel he was suspended for a while, all his work friends obviously knew and ruined his self confidence and respect and the woman that did this is still working in the same company and dropped all charges as she knew she had taken it all too far. Can my friend sue her for all what she has put him through.

My parents recently bought a property. The people my parents bought the property from left their plants and flowers there for my mom to take. My parents recently rented the property to a couple with a child and a grandmother. A month or so after they moved in, my mom went to the property with our gardener and started pulling out the plants in the backyard to take home. The tenant ran outside yelling at my mom telling her that she was not allowed to take the plants. She said that since she was renting the property it was HER property and taking the plants was taking part of her property.

Was she right? I have never heard of anyone do this before! The lease is very, very basic and says nothing about this. The tenants have been giving us nothing but trouble since day one. They yelled at my mom in her face and constantly threaten to call the police even though my mom did nothing to upset them. Were the tenants right about the plants and can my parents take legal action?
