I'm confused how you relate Persuasion to the Lake House. I've read Persuasion but I thought I'd like to get other peoples opinions. Thanks!

I asked this question before but no would would discuss it with me:

How did life form from non-living matter and if this is the case how come no one has ever seen non-living matter turn into living matter?

Since there is no evidence (based on Louis Pasteur's and many others works) that living matter could come from non-living matter wouldn't this be a matter of faith that since life is here (on earth) it had to have come from non-living matter?

If so I thought science was not faith based, but rather used knowledge to draw conclusions?

With that being said why does science rule out all possibilities of a higher being creating life simply because it cannot be proven, but in the same breath turn around and say that life from non-living matter and/or Panspermia (the idea of aliens planting life on earth) is possible when it cannot be proven either?

Why are we so quick to rule out the thought of a higher power, but not so quick with any other hypothesis for the creation of life?

This was an exercise for poetry workshop. We had to write a poem in which the words followed the alphabet. The professor challenged us not to start with A, so I didn't. What do you think?

Queen Guinevere’s Trial

Zealous accusations burn
Camelot.
Dying embers flare,
Gesturing hellishly,
Imitating jousting knights.
Lancelot mounts,
Noticing one peril-stricken queen,
Rides, spurring towards
Upheaval.
Virtue wasted,
Xanadu yielded.

This is the third offer I'm putting on this townhouse. The asking price is 306K...Last week I offered 260K (what she paid for it 3 years ago) and she didnt even respond. Then I offered 280K, and she didnt even respond again. Now Im offering 290K, and I'm still waiting to hear back from my agent. I really love this townhouse, but I feel the seller is unwilling to compromise.

My agent says even 280K, in a low housing buyer's market like this, is a good and fair offer...and the listing agent would be surprised if the seller just didnt respond to 290K. Do you think it is a fair offer considering similiar units in the same complex sold for the same or less? Its obvious she wants top dollar for her townhouse, but the market is a seller's market that really doesn't bear top dollar prices and she didnt put much improvements into it.

Do you think she will at least counter-offer? I think 290K is a very reasonable offer to at least get a response from her. What do you think?

Does anyone know if I would be able to get any kind of financial help from the government for a new boiler.

Mine has just broken and have been told I need a new one. I am with a housing association who I pay 75% rent to but they won't help because they say if you own 25% its your responsibility. I cant afford a new one as i've been quoted £550. I also have a 5 month old baby and I need hot water for her more than anything.

PS. My husband works full time (not a good wage) and I have a full time job but I'm currently on maternity leave.

One of those images where the pc can be restored to an earlier state if there is ever a problem? Like to DVD or CD or to the system itself.

System Restore doesn't cut it cause it totally messes up an important program I use.

Thanks.

This is not about the morality of swearing!! I'd like to know if non Western/non Christian cultures use their deity's name(s) in vain or as a form of profanity?

Once again, I'm not interested in hearing that swearing is bad, or what people might use in a western culture or what western swear words have migrated around the world.
