I'm confused how you relate Persuasion to the Lake House. I've read Persuasion but I thought I'd like to get other peoples opinions. Thanks!

It is a story about a question of can love survive separation in distance and time. The movie is about the same subject but with different facts and different characters. The author put the book in as aof foreshadowing the end of the film. It is the book She has him pick up at the train station, the book her father gave her, but, a book that she never really liked the ending of, and yet it reminded her of her father so she wanted it back.

Persuasion is a gift from her father; and it is her favorite novel by Jane Austen.

There is no significance of the book in the movie.

I don't know, maybe because he is trying to persuade her to meet him, and (at the end) she is trying to persuade him to wait.
