does it not stand to reason that twice as many men can dig twice as many holes in half the time?
appling that standard, twice a man and a half would be three men and so three men could dig three holes in half the time a man and a half could... or a man and a boy could...
so if a man and a half being a man and a boy, boy being his son can dig a hole and a half in a day and a half, and they are each digging there own hole to the same given debth... then it takes a day and a half for the man to dig his hole and a day and a half for the boy (man and a Half) to dig the half hole being half the debth of a hole and thus only a half hole from completion to being a whole hole...
now if three men are hired, will they not have three shovles instead of two? and if they are not to get in each others way, it is safe to assume they will begin digging each of them their own hole and beginning at the same time...
will a man not being a man and a half finish a hole in a day and charge more?
