No, because compliments that I give are usually genuine, and are very seldom lies. I'm very stingy on "white" lies, and use them only in the case of flagging confidence.
I assume most others usually have the same attitude, and accept most compliments as truthful but not essential.

no not absolute lies, but I think that sometimes we all need compliments and can't live without them, our personality doesn't just come from within it comes from outside to and then in and then reflects back out., if someone is being nice to us we are happy if we like it and if they are being mean to us it makes us feel bad and that shows and we can't just really brush it off that is what is false, but sometimes people do give false compliments and those can be a negative

Why do you say absosolute lies? I know if a compliment is true or not. Like, "you're a good, hard worker"; yes, I know I am, so know it's not a lie. I've had to, as us all, live without compliments, but when someone gives me a good compliment, it makes my world brighter and easier to abide.

Compliments can be many things. Sometimes genuine. Sometimes not.
If you do not believe the compliment, then it is likely the person who is paying the compliment does things for you to doubt the sincerity of their claims.
A lie is a lie, even if they have something nice to say about you.

some of them are, but if they're actually upright and are actually true then they can't be lies- and can be really uplifting. but yes, some people think that you just have to randomly give out compliments to make themselves look oh so kind, and that's just dumb. like once i recieved a compliment from someone i barely knew about something completely normal and i'm sure it was a lie. so dumb.

Not from me -- if I tell someone that they look nice, had a great haircut, sing well, whatever, I really mean it. If I don't think these things, I keep my mouth shut. Honesty is always best....
