It's good that you've given yourself lots of time to do this! Most large banks in Boston will have a currency exchange, but call first since they might have to order some in, as they don't usually keep foreign currency on hand. Once you get to Europe don't exchange at the airport or at any of the street "cambio" exchange booths. Always go to a bank or an American Express office.

Buy Euros In Boston

Any medium sized bank should be able to do the exchange for you. A smaller bank might need to order the Euros for you, but that would take only a day or two.

A simpler approach is to use the ATM when in Europe

Or if you don't want to use a foreign ATM, take travellers cheques (in USD or EUR) and exchange them at a bank at your destination. That way you only carry a small amount of cash at any time, not the whole amount for your trip.

You can get Euros in large banks in Boston, but I would advise against it. Banks in the US think that foreign exchange is exotic and peculiar and they'll severely overcharge you.

If you're going to Europe, take your bank ATM card and get your Euros at the airport when you land. You'll get a much better exchange rate.

You can exchange right at the airport. Large banks in the area (Bank of America or Citizens, generally) will do it, but not at all branches, so you could contact them and see which offices provide this service.

Some banks won't exchange money for people that aren't their customers. Most airports have a money exchange counter that can accommodate just about any currency. Try that if the banks won't help you.

there's a currency exchange place in the international terminal. (there's a couple of them, actually.)

some a them have a buy back guarantee -- that is, they buy back from you any leftover euros you bring back with you. of course, it's been my experience that when i fly OUT at midnight, they're open. but when i fly BACK at midnight, they're closed.

most frequent travelers say your credit card gives you the best exchange rate, so you should use that whenever possible and just get a couple hundred euros for things like cab fare, tips, small purchases, and those annoying places that don't take credit cards.

safe trip!!

You can also convert them at Logan Airport, right before you go over. There's a currency exchange kiosk right there in the airport. Happy travels!
