I am looking to buy a house, and it is vacant. The previous owners are gone and turned off the gas and eletricity. I would like to have the house inspected before moving in on it. The realtor of the house is telling me I would have to set up the accounts for both to be turned on. Should I have to do this? Thanks

I am a monotheist, an agnostic, and a witch. I have been thinking recently about "Holy" books and how convoluted and meaningless they are, and I have decided that the only book that is holy is a Book of Shadows. Okay, well, that's what we call them in witchcraft, but if you are a Christian, you may keep a book where you write down your "conversations" with God, your prayers and your beliefs or somesuch, I would consider that in the same vein. A book based upon your own personal ideas, observations, and experiences is holy, but a book based on ancient legends, violent stories, and bronze age mentality doesn't fit the bill. My reasoning is simply that other "Holy" books leave me feeling spiritually bereft, whereas my own thoughts and ideas and prayers and rituals make me feel closer to the Deity.

What are your "holy books," why are they Holy, and what makes you believe it is holy? What does it look and smell like? What sorts of things are pressed between the pages?

A lady acquaintance of mine has recently returned from Iraq where she was working as a freelance photographer. We are friends but not that close (e.g., we have friends who are friends) and we have gone out a couple of times before, but don't visit one another or anything like that.

I asked her how her trip was and, when she had finished, I complimented her on her integrity (what with going to such a dangerous place alone), 'You've certainly got balls,'.

Now for me, this just means the same as 'You've got guts,' or 'You're brave,'. albeit in perhaps a rougher way. But she took offense, being an ardent feminist, as if I was equating her actions to manliness. Of course I apologised, but I wondering if any other girls would take offence at being told this? Thanks

after the tribulation please show me some versus in the bible that states that the rapture will either be post trib or not ratpure all all. My guy has this friend (Female). I do trust her and I do trust him but how do I solve a situation like this.

Last night my guy and I were spending our time together and his friend called. She called a few times cause this guy was at her house I guess her brother left him there.. Anyway, after a few hours of calls going back and fourth she called again and he ended up going to see her at about 2:30am telling me he would be back in 15-20 mins. At 3:45am he comes home and obviously I am not happy... He gets mad at me for getting mad at him and we get into a fight. Do you think I had a right to get mad? No he didn't call and he didn't come back home to tell me he was going to be there for a little bit. She only lives 5 mins away.

Ok, 4 every one who answered about my do U think this is fair part1 when my coach went on vacation during the season, THANK U!!!!! But now its part2. Ok well the lady who says strike and all that (I forget what its called!), she dosen't like our team. The other day when the pitcher threw the ball, she counted it a strike, when the ball was a grounder and touched home plate!!!!!!!!!! I also over heard 1 of her conversations with the other coach saying how she thinks our tam is 2 perky?! Any suggestions?

My three year old mixed race son attended his preschool sports day. The whole staff paid my son little or no attention. We only found out about the sports day THE DAY BEFORE and had no time to prepare or anything.

There was a sack race and my son was plopped into a sack. He had NO IDEA what he was doing and tried to run. Of course he kept falling. His key worker picked him up and ran the course with him, but he was so sad.

Shouldn't the school have practiced first?

Here is the situation. The housing market here in NJ has dropped significantly in the past year, it is very much a buyer's market. The townhouse was built in 1987, and nothing has ever been updated. The kitchen and 2.5 bathrooms are way outdated from the 80's, the carpets need to be replaced, the floors are this cheap laminant from the 80's, the walls need to be spackled and repainted...

The seller purchased it for 260L three years ago, and now she's asking 306K. She has made ZERO improvements to it, and its obvious she put no money into updates and upkeep. I think its rediculous she expects to make over a $50K return in three years having put NO money into it, and the way the housing market is right now. In my eyes, the way the housing market is way lower now, she would be LUCKY to get what she paid for it 3 years ago. She expects top dollar for something she put nothing into. Who says she needs to make a profit?

Should I low ball her on the offer?
