I've just started the process of signing up to the Royal Navy, so it's not even guaranteed that I'm gonna get in, but every time I tell people I'm signing up as a pilot they all tell me I'm gonna end up killing people, dropping bombs and such - I'm not politically minded at all so it's hard for me to argue back at these people when they talk about Iraq and Gaza and the rest. The reason I'm signing up is to lead a more fulfilling life, to experience things that no other career could afford me - I need to get up to speed on world politics and form my own opinion, and I need help with that.

Some years back I did a search on the internet for "What is truth?". One of the results was this profound essay that used a pyramid (if I remember correctly) to explain the different perceptions that we have of truth, right and wrong and religion.

The author pointed out that if you looked at the pyramid from the top it looked like a square, and if you looked at it from the side, it was a triangle. In the end though we were all looking at the same thing.

I wanted to share this with my daughters, but all my searches have not found it yet.

Can anyone point me in the right direction, please?

My little girl is 8 and is allergic to mosquitoes. She wants to know why they were ever put here on earth. Also, if anyone has any ideas on how to get rid of mosquitoes outside, that would be GREAT!! It has rained here all summer and the water is standing everywhere. Hard to get rid of the little boogers when they have the perfect breeding grounds!

i'm looking for good original ideas for pranks at a camp i work at. things have been done, but i'm all about being off the wall. and my brain is a bit fried this summer. :-)

I have been told that many Gay people have tried to have a straight relationship but deep down they knew they were Gay, and they just couldn't feel like that for the opposite sex, and it would be way easier to be straight then to receive all the bigotry against them.
I could not even imagine the bigotry and etc..they face.

but If someone is Bisexual that means they are Gay . So then it's a choice right?
I mean it's not Biological but a choice then?

and one other Question; why do people try to make it religiously correct to be Gay, when the bible is perfectly clear that it's not Biblically correct, why not say I'm Gay and not try to put God's Amen on it?

I like 'em grilled. Love that carcinogen flavor! If I can't grill outside, I'll put 'em on a fork and roast them over the flame on the stove. Works on an electric stove, too, just takes a tad longer.

I find it interesting that atheists and non believers are comfortable condemning those of us who do believe when they themselves have no experience with a personal relationship with God. Some have had bad experiences with "religion" but as a former non-believer, I know that religion has little to do with God and that once you are able to move away from religion and towards that personal relationship, then and only then can you possibly understand what and who He is.

I need to get the dust off of kachina dolls that are made of cloth, fur, etc., and can't have any water or moisture on them. I know there is a hand held 'cool air' hair dryer out there somewhere that has only cool air coming out. HELP !!
