I find it interesting that atheists and non believers are comfortable condemning those of us who do believe when they themselves have no experience with a personal relationship with God. Some have had bad experiences with "religion" but as a former non-believer, I know that religion has little to do with God and that once you are able to move away from religion and towards that personal relationship, then and only then can you possibly understand what and who He is.

They can't, and neither can believers. Noone knows, and noone will ever know, because it is purely faith. There will always be those who resort to the supernatural to explain what we do not know. However, since there is no way of knowing, no way of testing, proving, or disproving, it is a stupid debate to begin with. We need to be accepting of all beliefs, because none is better than the other.

You, like many theists, are grossly mistaken if you think atheists have never experienced a "personal relationship with god" Nothing could be further from the truth. Like many former theists, I prayed daily, on an ongoing basis. I believed God was indwelling and everywhere present. And so on.

I had no "bad experiences" either with religion or with religious people. On the contrary, I began to study religion in-depth in order to get closer to god and to study for the ministry.

It was my deeper exploration of religion that led to becoming an atheist. Despite being a non-believer, I still have ties to my church, because the people there are loving and welcoming.

My belief is that Christians and other theists like to comfort themselves with your line of thinking, since it allows you to retain your delusions.

Many have faith in an endless Universe whilst there is not any empirical evidence. to the choice there is evidence that the universe had a commencing up yet simply by non secular implications some desire to disclaim this and embody any concept interior the attempt to avert those implications. what's humorous is a few think of the vast bang is evidence of no God. maximum scientists recognize that if something began to start it would have had a reason. because of the fact of this they have produced an entire gamma of theories. Theories that have not have been given any shred of empirical evidence.

Simple. They're Hearts are not open for God's truth.
They would follow the lies of this world and be very materialistic(translation for their illogical realism) than to know the wrath that is about to come.

Only the Grace of God and not of themselves will they ever realize their wrong doings and It takes Faith and Conviction through Jesus that they will see what they do not know.
Hebrews 11: 1
"Faith is the substance of things hoped for. "the evidence of things 'not' seen."

Being an atheist has nothing to do with religion. I'm an atheist because I choose to believe in facts. I don't need an imaginary, invisible creature to feel happy and fulfill.

The spiritual mind, recreated by being born again of his spirit
A regenerated mind in Christ Jesus only conceives of the things of God, a carnal or flesh mind cannot receive the things of God
They are known only to those who know him
That is the way it is, so they cannot understand the Bible or know the things freely given of God

Grace and peace to all

"The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God." 1 Corinthians 1:18

I believe there are two VERY separate groups when it comes to non-believers. There are true atheists, who are not bothered and may even admire people of faith... and then, there are anti-theists. Who actively hate god (And so, believe in him. Because how can you hate something you genuinely do not believe exists?) for one reason or another and will do anything to have others join in on their misery.

The "unbeliever" is unable to grasp the concept of God, because the Holy Spirit has not softened their hearts to believe. We as disciples are to plant the seeds, so that the Spirit can water them unto salvation.
